5.0 out of 5 stars Now this is what I call DRAMA!!!!
This book was off the hook. I could not believe the things that were happening to Kayla, from her family to her men, they all did her wrong one point in time.

Everytime you think a situation has been resolved Mrs. Hunt will hit you with another dilemna. I can not wait until part two is released. I finished it while I was drying my hair and I had the nerve to be mad...

3.0 out of 5 stars a "quick read" for an avid reader.
Hmmm....what can I say? I read the reviews before purchasing the book. The reviews made it appear as if DQ was the work of a literary genius. Unfortunately I wasnt as impressed as most of the other reviewers. The book was ok but far from being a page-turner. I imagined that the book would be full of drama. As another person said in her reviews "WHERE'S THE...

This book was off the hook. I could not believe the things that were happening to Kayla, from her family to her men, they all did her wrong one point in time.

Everytime you think a situation has been resolved Mrs. Hunt will hit you with another dilemna. I can not wait until part two is released. I finished it while I was drying my hair and I had the nerve to be mad because the book ended. I wanted to hop on my computer and write my review right then and there.

I will say this though, the cover of this book did not do it justice. I know you should not judge a book by its cover, but when you look at the cover it will make you think of it being some type of drama in the street story, but its not like that at all. When you read the story you will see that ordinary working-class women go through the s--- too!!!!

Sisters and brothers read this book, you might see yourself on one side or the other!!!!

Got that kind of drama........

Kayla, Kayla, Kayla....if you can't have the man you want, find a man that reminds you of him! (Often imitated, but never duplicated.)

DRAMA QUEEN from the very beginning is filled with D-R-A-M-A!
Infidelity, Deceit, Broken engagements, broken hearts and that's just the prologue.

As Kay struggles to regain her life after being separated from her Geno for more than a year, she falls in pregnant by a one night hitter who turns out to be a married hustla who's all bull.

Then her Geno, who still has eyes for her, and she for him has a maniac of a girl who knows that she needs that ring before spring, but can't get him to cling.

Not to mention that her sister has her heart set against her and is at the forefront of deception.

NOW THAT'S TOO MUCH D-R-A-M-A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kay has great friends and family who love and support her dearly. It's especially good to see that she stopped listening and relying on herself and turned to God. Didn't HE get her right together?

"That's your problem. You are trusting man when you should trust HIM!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Can you say....Totally An Awesome Book!!!, January 4, 2004

Drama Queen is one of the best books I have ever read in my life. Lajill Hunt had me rolling on the floor as I read this book. Personally I feel that trashing the book because of the profanity in the beginning is stupid - if cursing is the only problem you had with the book or all you had to complain about, then it's obvious that you haven't read this book or a Carl Weber one, because he does use profanity, or even some other AWESOME books I've read lately. This book had all the makings of a great story - friendship, love, sisterhood, sex and most of all DRAMA!!! If you want a great read and don't mind a little cursing here and there (yes, even in the beginning!), then check out Drama Queen. Her writing is just as good as the best of them. Take it from a Drama Queen in my own right, LOL!!!
P.S. What the are yout talking about w/the reviews - outside of yours and one other one - all the other reviews are giving Ms. Hunt 5 stars and raving about the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Off the Hook, May 31, 2005
This review is from: Drama Queen (Paperback)
Let me first start by saying I am not a die hard reader. When I do get time to read, the book MUST catch my attention in the first few pages. I must say, Drama Queen kept my attention from the beginning to the very end. My goodness...it took me two days to read this action filled story. You know I would've finished sooner, but I had to sleep. It was excellent. I was so excited after reading Drama Queen. I was looking for more pages to read.....I didn't want the story to stop. I totally got caught up in this story. It was life like. My LIFE!!! I swear LaJill must know me personally or something! Thank you to my sister Crystal for the recommendation. I can't wait to finish the next book. This is a must read!!!! I told everyone I knew to read it!!! What are you waiting for? Buy it, read it, enjoy it, love it!!!!! I DID!!!!!

If you are looking for a book with much drama and a great story line, "Drama Queen" is that book. Ms. Hunt did a terrific job with this book. She wrote her character's story in such a way that you felt main character Kayla's pain and tribulations, and her happiness and joy. I cannot wait for the sequel to this book!!!

This is addition you "MUST" add to your collection!

Somehow saying that Kayla is pregnant by one man and in love with another doesn't really begin to tell the story. The drama, the twists and turns, the characters, the surprises...all contribute to one of the best stories I've read in a while. The first 10 pages of the book are excellent, the rest are even better. This is such a solidly, well written story, I can't believe this is a first outing for LaJill Hunt. I can't wait for the sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drama Times Three!!!, November 17, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Drama Queen (Paperback)
This book was by far the best I have read in a while. I had been loking forward to La Jill's book since I read A Dollar and a Dream. She did not disappoint. The story grabbed my attention from the jump and I could not put the book down. I found so much of my own life in Kayla's that it was unreal. I loved Terrell too and I wish there were a lot more brother's around like him. He was definitely my favorite character although I liked them all. This book was well written and had many positive elements regarding friendship and sisterhood. Drama Queen is definitely one of my favorite books and I look forward to La Jill Hunt's future endeavors. She undoubtedly has a fan in me!!! Great job and great read!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Drama Queen, January 7, 2005
This review is from: Drama Queen (Paperback)
Kayla Hopkins is in love with her ex-fiancé, Geno-he's living with Janice because it's convenient until he figures out how he's going to get back into Kayla's good books---after she'd caught him committing the despicable. Kayla is single and still trying to get over her love for Geno. She meets Craig in a nightclub and decides he could be a good substitute for Geno-they even look alike. She's about to get seriously played, by a player that, I'm sure, learned his craft in PLAYER school. Craig's seduction scene was no average event like: taking a girl home to mom's living-room softer-bed--with a takeaway meal from McDonald's. He would have fooled the female version of Einstein. A one night stand of passion, he planned with absolute precision, turned into an unwanted pregnancy for Kayla and shocking news for Geno. Things go from bad to worse and even dreadful at times---when Kayla finds out that Craig is a consummated lair, who already has a family and a questionable career. She decides to keep the baby anyway, and at the same time, quit her job as a Teacher, to do something else. Although Kayla has the support of her friends--her mother and her father (when she finally tells them of her predicament), her sister Angelica, has never been a real sister to her-she manages to find to ways to ruin everything for her. This was no ordinary drama, especially since Kayla had two men (almost) fighting over her while she's pregnant. Kayla's gullibility gave this story its entertaining edge-she became a magnet for drama. Of course she wasn't the only `Drama Queen' the men gave her a run for her money, like Terrell, her best friend and work colleague. I'm sure he attended the same PLAYER school as Craig. Terrell (a self-confessed player), certainly brought equal amounts of drama to the table, with his philandering ways--making Craig look like a `minus A Class player.'

To say this story is `dramatic' would be an understatement---it was RICH with drama all the way to the very last word.

Dizzy

5.0 out of 5 stars My cuz has got it going on!!, August 24, 2004
This review is from: Drama Queen (Paperback)
Keeping this short and to the point, without giving away the details. Absolutely loved this book. The love triangle between Geno-Kayla-Craig was just hot. And her circle of friends were just full of antics. The book expresses to people that no matter how much drama and sh!# thrown at you, as long you have family and friends to support and love you, you will be strong in the end.
To my cuz, LaJill: You work your thing girl. I am waiting for that next one to hit the shelves. Keep them coming.
