One wand to rule them all.,

This review is from: Dramm, 22431 Colormark Premium Rain Watering Wand 30-Inch Length with 8-Inch Foam Grip, Gold (Lawn & Patio)
The impossibility of having a "retail" watering wand last more than a growing season is what led me to the Dramm brand. I'd bought the cheap ones, bought the fancy ones, bought the ones that said "brass construction" (with hidden plastic insides- which quickly failed). None of them lasted long. For some reason, it infuriates me. I feel like I'm being forced to hand money over repeatedly for something that should be a one-time purchase.
So I pulled up Google, did some obsessive watering wand research, and found this. First, Dramm is perhaps the most common US brand for nurseries and professionals. I snuck a peek at my local nursery-- yep, she's using Dramms. Second, these Colormark wands are the top of the line, probably because of the (HEAVY!) all-brass valve at its base. (You can buy the valve itself, alone, for about $15-20). People use them for years and years. Not likely to fail. I found notes online that said that Dramm's plastic valve was prone to breaking after a year or two, like everyone else's, so this model was the one for me. I like the trigger handgrip types a bit better, but I'm willing to give up a little bit of ergonomics for reliability. Third, should something on this wand fail or get bent or ruined, you can replace just that part; the heads, wands and valves are all sold separately. Fourth, it's made to water plants with a gentle aerated flow. There's not 17 other silly settings (Water shaped like a Smile! Water shaped like a Vertical Line! Pounding Massage for your Plants! Etc) because they're unnecessary for most gardeners. I'll come back and report if I have any trouble, but I don't expect to do so. I'm all about buying Quality once rather than buying Cheap repeatedly. This baby costs less than I've spent on two pieces of junk at the big box stores in the past two years. Thanks, Dramm! May you live up to your excellent online reputation.

I bought two of this not knowing if they would be what I wanted. I didn't need all the different "sprays" that some wands offer. I just wanted an adjustable water flow with a spray that would not damage my plants or dig up the soil. This wand does just that. Simple, easy to use, adjustable, and sturdy. Hopefully, the metal fixtures on it will last much longer than the regular plastic models. GREAT WAND.

How did I ever do without it?,
This review is from: Dramm 12501 Colormark Premium Rain Watering Wand 30-Inch Length with 8-Inch Foam Grip, Blue (Lawn & Patio)
Recommended by my landscaper when he put in a new planting for me. It puts out a steady, gentle, focused rainspray that's good for practically all types of plants. I have a lot of young trees, and used to dread having to water them with a hose and nozzle. Now it's fun with this light, ultra comfortable 30" wand. Just measure first your rate of flow (how many seconds to release a gallon), turn the valve to on, watch your second hand, and easily move around the plant or tree. I get done in half the time and with less than half the backache. Bravo!
