Includes 4 color and 14 b&w illustrations, an introduction, an essay about the collector, a reprinted essay entitled: Bibliophiles and Collectors of African Americana, by Charles L. Blockson, the exhibition checklist, selected bibliography/websites, indexes and colophon.

About the Author

Jim Findlay received a BA in Art History and an MS in Library Science from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, and an MA in Latin American Studies from UCLA. He has been a professional librarian since 1971 and has held library positions with the Peace Corps (Dominican Republic), the UCLA Art Library, The Museum of Modern Art (NY), and was director of the libraries of The Rhode Island School of Design, The Fashion Institute of Technology (NY), The Wolfsonian (Miami Beach), and since 1996 has been the Librarian of Broward County Library's Bienes Center for the Literary Arts, The Dianne & Michael Bienes Special Collections and Rare Book Library (Ft. Lauderdale, FL). His book, Modern Art of Latin America: a Bibliography, was published in 1983 by Greenwood Press, and he has contributed many bibliographies to American and European exhibition catalogs. He has curated and published numerous Bienes Center rare book exhibition catalogs, including: The WPA: an Exhibition of Works Progress Administration (WPA) Literature and Art from the Collections of the Bienes Center for the Literary Arts, 1998, 87 p., co-authored by Margaret Bing. He is active in the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA).
