Editorial Reviews

Review

In an era of Dwell Modern, Danish style and industrial chic, hip parents are looking for hip products to entertain their kids, whilst trying hard not to buy into gross commercialism and mass branding. Draw Me a House, written and illustrated by Thibaud Herem, a French-born illustrator based in London, is one of the most engaging in the new world of "interactive" coloring books. But by interactive not meaning a stylus and a screen, but a pencil and a page. Part coloring book, part sketch pad, educational and inspirational, Herems book introduces children to the worlds of architecture and design through his signature simple illustration, and then encourages them to explore their own imagination on paper. (Sophie De Rakoff Huffington Post 2012-05-31)

Draw Me A House: A Book of Colouring in, Ideas and Architectural InspirationThis is a clever book allowing children to learn about
diverse architectural structures and styles, big and small... from the recognized Bilbao Guggenheim Art Museum in Spain to the utility of an igloo; from
ancient Egypt, to Victorian interiors, and on to Green homes. Along with giving simply-stated interesting facts, young people have the opportunity to
create and add personal touches by adding color enhancement to the illustrations, or to complete a partially developed drawing. Additionally, the book
includes an array of artistic architectural concepts- doors knockers, furniture, decorative arts, lighting, houseboats, streetscapes, bridges, and more.
I am a designer and arts educator, and I incorporate the ideas into classroom lessons. This book gets kids to think, draw, and dream. It's perfect for a
classroom of many, or for one-on-one home use.

What a creative way to learn about architecture - every structure from eco-techno towers to mobile homes and treehouses. There's plenty of space and ideas for drawing alongside Thibaud Herem's terrific pen and ink sketches. Terrific gift for all ages I'd say.

i bought this for my daughter and my nephew. This is not a children's book really. it oculd be for older children. but this is far too complex for little ones. On top of that, you're going to want this for yourself.
go doodle a gothic cathedral, or a victorian mansion...this will guide you in your doodles.

This is such a cute book! I'm using it to get back to the basics of sketching, and I can do it with my 7 year old! I love the simplicity of the drawing style, matched with the fun, little details. Great book!

Gave this to a friend who was in a drafting and design vocational shop class as a Christmas gift and she loved it. It has plenty of creative activities and layouts.
