This is pretty darn weird. When I bought this for my kid, five hours later he was complaining that the stuff was too complicated, and he's in fifth grade! I mean, Coope just draws a bunch of pictures and then says, this is how you draw a face, or this is how you draw the clothes. I would like it if it could actually help improve the skills. My son got pretty good at the faces, but the rest was horrible. Unless it is on sale, buy some other.
Disclaimer: I am not trying to insult her in any way, an I actually like some of it myself, but it needs more detail.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: How To Draw More Manga (Paperback)
I got this book about two years ago and after a couple of years buying how to draw manga books and studying how to draw manga I got a lot better at it. If you are a begining artist this is the book you want to start with. It accually looks like manga un- like Chistopher Harts art and isn't that hard to work with. It is deffently good for a begginer and it does not look like a child started to scibble away at this book! How ever the How to draw anime and game charaters book does have good art it still isn't what a begginer should start with it is to complicated. That book is more for a advanced begginer. So any way this book is a must for a begginer who really wants to draw anime and manga correctly!

Great book for Young Manga Artists!, September 3, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: How To Draw More Manga (Paperback)
It is pretty obvious from the bright front cover and illustrations inside that this book is meant to be for young manga artists as oppose to those who have been drawing for a long time.
The explanations are clear and there are lots of helpful pictures and tips which are easy to follow, and, after a bit of good practise, produce some good results.
I would much rather read this book than plough through all 30-something volumes of "How to Draw Manga!" I mean, when you are still on pocket money, this is a great priced book and useful to have at hand when drawing for advice and tips.
The book is not really for exerienced manga artists, though it does cover the basics well. I noticed that most of th negative reviews come from people who have read other manga books as well, but each person's individual style often depends on the books they have read.
Overall, I wouldn't bother to buy this book if you are already quite good at drawing manga, but if you are a beginner, this is a really helpful and handy guide.
