This series is one of my all time favorite homeschool finds! Simple step by step drawing and copy work. My 5 year old started book 1 in preschool. His drawings were adorable but pretty much unrecognizable. But, he persisted and now a year later is becoming quite the artist! Plus his handwriting is great now and I know that these helped him learn to read.
The best part about it is he LOVES to do it! It's a treat for him! Who knew handwriting could be fun!
We've got almost every book now. After he finishes a book, we pick out the best section or two and make his `own' book by gluing the drawings and copy-work onto construction paper and putting it all in a clear report folder. He's so proud!

I love this series for my English language learners. I teach content to 4th graders who are learning English and these books allow me to deliver the Social Studies curriculum at a reading level they can understand. I set it up as an independent work center and then review the pages with them as they compile them into a book. Wonderful even for my older students.

We are using this series as art instruction at home. The examples are easy enough for me (very much NOT artistically talented) to follow. The kids love to draw and embellish each subject, and often carry their lesson over into other drawings. There are even options to expand the lesson as children improve or show greater interest.

This looked like a very good book..... I got it for a little girl from The Christmas Angel Tree so I don't know who it went to..... one of the suggestions on her tag was a book on how to draw..... after reading the reviews I decided to get this one..... I think whoever got it would be very happy with it.

My 5-year-old loves to write and draw. I like these books because they give simple explanations and include short sentences for them to practice their handwriting. My son likes to take these books and can follow the directions easily and draw them by himself. I'm even learning to draw!

I bought these for my kids, one of whom was 5 at the time, and loves art of all kinds. We all love them. I really enjoy learning to draw, too! I thought I couldn't, turns out I'd never learned. I like the subject matter in all of the books, too.

My son loves to draw but doesn't love to write. Using these books gives him the opportunity to draw a picture then write a short passage about the drawing. He loves these books.

Such a great resource for teaching what you see. The kids love the step by step and I love how easy it is to guide them.
