In a time where Rap-Core is whats "the next big thing" in Rock. (By the way, ANY next big thing in Rock is better then the Teen Pop Girl Crazes.) So I got this album, after hearing 5 tracks I was on the edge of my seat, ready to explode if I did not own this incredibly produced, thought provokingly written, incredible Masterpiece. This is the first I'v heard of Project 86, and since the whole rap-rock stuff has reached its peak with me. I don't think I'll check out the first album. From what I've read this is there departure from that realm, and they have moved more into the singing(screamin) heavy rock music.But MAN! I don't have enough good things to say about this album(band). The music will amp you up! You'll bob your head and scream right along with the awesome vocals of the lead singer. Its not just all screaming either, these guys create the most complex and awesome sounds I've ever heard in this Genre of Music.

The best tracks are definetly the first 4 songs (Steins Theme, One Armed Man, Me against ME, and PS) That are, dare I say it, melodic AND dark. Typically when bands get more "melodic" songs. It usually gears into the Pop Realm (like MxPx) but these guys pulled it off WITHOUT compromising there sound. Star is a great mellow ballad that I can't get enough of.The ONLY dissapointment is that the last song didn't give the album a BIG BANG ending. Rather just rolled on into a 12 minute repetitious guitar riff. Its not terrible, but not my favorite track. They should have ended with Star instead.

In short I am SO glad I discovered these guys. I will definetly keep watch for more albums, consider me a Permanent Fan.

If you're tired of Limp Bizkit and PaPa Roach. Do yourself and give these guys a try! I promise You will NOT regret it!

Side Note: The band members are also Christian so you don't have to worry about negative messages, cussing, or anyother bad lyrical content.

Like all the truly great bands, Project 86 has been able to have a constantly evolving sound that displays excellent musicianship, songwriting, and diversity. Songs like Chimes, Souix Lane Spirits, and Hollow Again are gripping lyrical and musical experiences. They tell a story and provide a soundtrack that sends chills down my spine like few other bands can. I can easily overlook the fact that, like every musician, Project 86 has changed their style a little as they have experienced life and grown more versatile with their skills. Every one of their albums has been amazing, and though I have high hopes for "And The Rest Will Follow...", Drawing Black Lines is definitely (up to now) that one definitive Project 86 album that sets them far above the competition. Definitely their heaviest and darkest album to date, and the "chill down your spine" factor is up there with the best of them. It is my favorite album behind Tool's Lateralus.

Drawing Black lines is the most musiclly diverse album ever released. There is actually some Classic Rock influences along with their unique style of Hardcore, this album is more of everything. It's Harder with more screaming than the last album, yet there is melodic ClassicRock- sounding backing vocals by Guitarist Randy Torres.

The songe each belong to a certin style of music, weather it's a hard-rocking song (These guys Rock... ...HARD), a scary song (This is the third scariest song of all time third to Zao's "Liberate Et Ex Infernis", and Rackets and Drapes's "Candyland"), a Deep Spritual song (to any one who thinks these guys are evil cuz of their style-These guys are one of the most Deep, Thought-Provoking, spritual bands of all time),

The Best tracks are: Me Against Me (a very scary song Lyric-wise), Sad Machienes, Stins Theme, One Armed Man, and Open Hand (Witch Is a Constant Reminder Of the Love and Protection through Christ)

The Scary ones are: Me Against Me, P.S., Chimes, Star, and Twenty-Three

Oh Yeah, how many times do I have to say, THESE GUYS AREN'T RAP-CORE, they are hard-core. You can even look under Randy's thax he has a part where he says "No Thanks To: Any one who Called Us Rap-Core, Colin Quinn, etc., etc.

With Drawing Black Lines, Project 86 established themselves as one of the (if not the) most passionate, intense bands in music. From the harsh, driving opening guitars of Stein's Theme to the closing cacophany of chaos in Twenty-three, this album flat-out rocks harder than anyone. Lead singer Andrew screams like a man possessed over the wall of guitars, bass and drums. Stein's Theme, One-Armed Man and Me Against Me go all-out with never a moment's pause. PS is, for lack of a better word, chilling, the best, most passionate, haunting and intense track on the album (which is definitely saying something). Chimes is another fantastic, wrenching tune that slices straight to the heart. The guitars on Sad Machines are, simply put, insane. The introspective Star is followed by the similarly insanely sick track Chapter 2. Though I'm not fond at all of Open Hand, the sickness of the other tracks on the album would make up for a song twenty times weaker. This album rocks like none other. Get it now. NOW!

I guess this is considered "rapcore" or "numetal" or "hardcore", but to me it's just great hard rock. Project 86 has a nice heavy sound with guitars that have a satisfying crunch. The singer has a unique voice and delivery and rides a middle ground between singing and rapping. To their credit, the band has the restraint and confidence to infuse their songs with a full dyanmic range (volume and tempo) which makes for interesting listening. This record leaves me anxiously anticipating their next offering and, even more, to see them live.

I absolutely love p.86.They're the best all around band I'v ever heard-the lyrics,the vocals,the music-all are the best!!!The only reason I gave this cd 4 stars is because I didn't like this cd as much as the first,but believe me I don't regret getting this one and I'll get their next as soon as it comes out.I want to stress this:THEY ARE NOT RAP-CORE!!!!THIS IS A HARD-CORE BAND!!!!There is only one song on both of their cd's combined that sound even remotely like rap(six sirens on Project 86 self-titled cd).That's why i like them so much.P.O.D. and their like are okay,but HARDCORE'S WHERE IT'S AT!!!!And they're christian so there's no swearing or any of that garbage,and there's a great message in every song.In a word...AWESOME!!!!!

I love the way Project 86 starts out their 2nd album from start to finish. I love how in Stein's Theme they show the aggressive side to Jesus as Jesus fought Satan in spiritual warfare. Satan threw all his best demons at him because he was the messiah. He started a new revolution, Christainity. In One Armed Man, I love how they show how so many search for something and go to drugs, sex, and alcohol. But, the real thing is Jesus. In Chimes it describes the awful pain and suffering in hell and A Toast to My Former Self is about dieing to sin like it says in Romans 6 and becoming a new creation. In Open Hand, they show how we are protected threw our salvation. I was into Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc. ,but I turn to Christian rock. These guys are really heavy and spread a good message.

This album left me in shock...Im not a christian fan at all...I listen to Slipknot,Slayer,NIN,all the hardcore metal so when i bought this cd just to give this music a try i found it very surprising...this cd has alot of good songs and if you didnt know that this was a christian band you would think it was another hardcore band.I recomend this cd to everyone who wants to try this type of christian metal any other christian stuff that talks all about god in every song is not what i am recomending.Coming from someone is in a heavy metal band an born in a hardcore background i think you should listen to it you will be very surprised...

An awesome cd get this if your a ture Project 86 fan! Cuz its there best work!

Project86 is one of the most formidable and fascinating bands I've heard,especially through "Drawing Black Lines" A year ago I had only heard Project a few times, then I got thier cd, it's the ONLY thing that i listen to. I find it to be the most influencial albums ever, that i have ever owned. I saw Project at a show, i met the band members, the Band members that I had soooo much admired and loved; I treated them like Brothers, They treated me the same. The most I can say about Project86, and the best characteristic of them, is their love; not thier music. They do music because they love it. Not for the money or for thier rep. They do it because music isn't selling the most albums possible and doing it all for money, that's NOT MUSIC. they do it because of their humblness and love for Christ ,who so willingly took the nails for all of us. They do it because...... thier actions, define MUSIC. Project will deffinately stay in my cd player forever, and most of all, in my heart.God bless.

Ps. BUY THIS ALBUM, AND THIER NEXT ONE COMING OUT SOON, ALL PROJECT86 FANS HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS. THIS GROUP HAS EFFECTIVELY CHANGED MY LIFE, AND MY VEIW OF ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST.THESE GUYS TRULY ARE IN GOD"S HANDS, AND THAT'S WHAT HAS BROUGHT THEM SOOO FAR.
