1.0 out of 5 stars Had to Throw It Away, November 2, 2005

(REAL NAME)
This book should never have been published as is. It's just thrown together. For example, in the watercolor section, to paint a tree that is obviously green every time it is shown, we are asked to usse cyan blue; not cyan blue mixed with yellow, just cyan blue. In another exercise, the colors of the flowers are red orange as shown. We are asked to mix blue and magenta to create violet to paint those flowers. The directions are not given in order for the most part, just happus gappus. The arrows from pictures to captions sometimes don't even aim in the right direction. I realize the colors as pictured can sometimes be a bit misleading, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Here is a quote from the book: "In order to paint the jar, mix magenta and yellow, to obtain an orangy color. Over this add a touch of blue; the mix becomes a more orangy color." If someone were to use this book as their first watercolor instruction book (I didn't look at the other sections), they would be so frustrated they might just give up on watercolor.
