5.0 out of 5 stars Painting
This book is a great help for my painting. I have it constantly by my easel and can see myself getting a lot of use from it in the future.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This book is merely made up of parts from other books. For example, the author took a portion from Ann Kullberg's Capturing soft realism in colored pencil and another from Chris Saper's Painting beautiful skin tones. Alot of the work in the book is from Chris Saper. Those are just some examples, there are a few others as well that are just repeats from other books...

Well, I was looking for something different. I guess for those who have not read the other books, may find this book informative.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but Painting Beautiful Skin Tones With Color & Light by Chris Saper is better!, March 10, 2008

This is a good book, but its almost the exact same book (and not as good) as Painting Beautiful Skin Tones With Color & Light in Oil, Pastel and Watercolor by Chris Saper. Some of the examples in both books are the exact same, but i find the book on Painting skin to explain more things. I would give Drawing and Painting People: The Essentail Guide a rating of 3, and Painting Beautiful Skin Tones With Color & Light in Oil, Pastel and Watercolor a 5!
