5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOOK.
I just recieved this book in the mail yesterday and I think it's WONDERFUL. It shows color spectrum, gender proportions, and many different poses. I often have trouble thinking of things in my head and transferring them on to paper the way I want. The different poses, and detailed instructions are extremely helpful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Never have i hated a book more.
BUYER BEWARE. this.book.sucks. It teaches you nothing. I wanted to learn who to draw and the techniques...the most useful part was the first 3 pages that talk about the materials you will require to do the drawing. THAT was the ONLY informative part. The rest of it is just rough copies of concept art and then the final copies of the art concept. AND its ONLY useful to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational Book On Drawing And Creating The Undead, December 10, 2010

This review is from: Drawing and Painting the Undead: Create Gruesome Ghouls for Graphic Novels, Computer Games, and Animation (Barron's Educational) (Paperback)
Drawing and painting the undead was a super useful book that is not only inspirational it delivers some technical techniques on creating visions of the undead and some whilst nightmarish visions of many artists throughout the book, it's Keith Thompsons art that really is inspired and really draws you into a world of the dead to draw such as zombies, ghouls, wraiths and other undead creatures of many world legends.

The artwork on offer in this book is professional and it leaves just enough room to work out your own drawings and art whilst being constantly inspired by all the fantastic images in the book.

I found this book highly useful for drawing my own artwork and it gave me the much needed inspiration to continue with my drawing.

5.0 out of 5 stars great resource for artists, February 25, 2008
This review is from: Drawing and Painting the Undead: Create Gruesome Ghouls for Graphic Novels, Computer Games, and Animation (Barron's Educational) (Paperback)
If you can't work from a real model, this book is the next best thing. My older sister looks kind of like a zombie, but I can't look at her for very long without wanting to puke. So I just use this, and it's great.

The rest of it is just rough copies of concept art and then the final copies of the art concept. AND its ONLY useful to people who do most of the work on the computer. Im just a drawer... I dont scan the photo and do extra work on it. AND i dont learn from being shown a picture...and thats it. You have to say how you did what you did...dont just show me different versions of something and then be like PRESTO you know how to draw now! What an idiot of a author honestly.
