1.0 out of 5 stars Poor graphics content, October 21, 2000

This review is from: Hybrid Drawing Techniques by Contemporary Architects and Designers (Hardcover)
The intention of this book is noble but the results are poor ! Out of the 192 pages only 22 are in color, and this limits the reader's comprehension of the techniques the author tries to illustrate. The total lack of large color visuals causes this book to provide only a partial presentation of composite-collage-graphic-work; most of the photos are only 2.5x3.5 inches, the printing quality is marginal. Furthermore, the mayority or the work presented is 7 to 10 years old, most of these techniques have now been supeceeded by more creative mix media being used by Architects and designers in every-day practice. If you are interested in hybrid drawings and mixed media, check-out: "Archigram", it presents the amazing work of Peter Cook, Ron Heron,Warren Chalk, and many others who pioneered this technique back in the early 70's, their work is still ahead of it's time today !! thru their exciting visuals they have influenced architects world wide for decades !!( available thru Amazon.com) five stars for Mr. M. Saleh Uddin's illustration on the cover of this book but only one star for it's contents, I was totally disapointed, I returned the book !!

4.0 out of 5 stars great graphic contents, March 25, 2000
This review is from: Hybrid Drawing Techniques by Contemporary Architects and Designers (Hardcover)
if your looking for an idea book on graphic illustration of architectural ideas, look no further - this book is loaded with great examples of the work of many leading architects. there is also helpful text describing how the work was put together. together with the two other books by the author, you can have a great resource to draw from (no pun intended). my only complaint is that the book isn't avaliable for a bit less money, but it's still worth the price.
