5.0 out of 5 stars King's Opus, October 17, 2005
This review is from: The Drawing of the Three (Paperback)
This story wasn't so much written by King as it was told through him. Rolands world takes on a life of it's own. 20+ years in the making, the journey to the Dark Tower is finally complete. Although more that 20 books that King has written tie into the story in one way or another.

If you are a fan of King's writing, then you owe it to yourself to at least pick up the first book, The Gunslinger and see if it is to your liking. After reading it in the mid 90's, I found myself hooked and longing for the rest of the story. 4000 pages and 6 books later, I have it and now wish to read the rest of his works pertaining to the world of Roland of Gilead, Son of Steven Deschain.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best series I've read, September 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Drawing of the Three (Paperback)
The Gunslinger series is an excellent story. I've read the poem by Robert Browning that this story is based on and find the poem much more enjoyable since reading this series. I'm looking forward to book number five and hope Mr King is sufficiently recovered from his accident to get it to his fans very soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stephen King steps out of the horror genre and into fantasy, May 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Drawing of the Three (Paperback)
Im reading the series for the second time, anticipating #5. Each new book is better than it's predecessor. Stephen King is able to write about any genre, from horror to fantasy. If you want to read a good series, read this one. It's truly Kings best work, and he's got some good work.
