4.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely charming January 12, 2010
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The artwork is wonderful, the story is great, the voice acting is engaging and professional. Gameplay is seamless. The puzzles were interesting and intuitive, but they were quite easy. This might be a great way to introduce younger adventure gamers to the genre for that reason, but the style and feel of the game will win over even a seasoned gamer.

It was never repetetive, I didn't feel like I had to trudge back and forth between locations at all. I also never found myself clicking around in frustration looking for an object or a pathway, like so often happens with point and click adventures.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it's a short game. I finished it in a little over 2 hours. The price is reasonable for that amount of gameplay, I just could have gone on playing for much much longer. MUCH longer.

It's a great little game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous graphics, challenging & interesting play November 29, 2009
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I'm so happy I stumbled across the game. I'm surprised I don't see it mentioned more often. The graphics are simply beautiful, and the gameplay is interesting, engrossing, and is nicely woven into the story. Many of the puzzles are truly challenging and unique.

This game is very intriguing. The puzzles are challenging and the graphics are very pleasing. The story is very deep and integrated well within the game. I loved playing this game. I only wish it had lasted longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rare delight! May 4, 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Charm is something that is almost impossible to define but whatever charm means "Drawn" has it. This enchanting game is a delight for everyone. It is one of the few games that is hard enough for an adult to enjoy and cute enough to enthrall a kid. The two of you can play together side by side in mutual satisfaction. "Drawn" is also one of the few games to score highly on all fronts: the beautiful graphics, the excellent voice acting (the narrator's husky tones, especially), and the appropriate music from gloomy and soft piano notes to joyous violins and full symphony exuberance.

The environments include dark and muted scenes like the decaying tower in which Princess Iris, our heroine, is imprisoned, and an eerie primeval forest, to the paintings Iris has created, which are rich in color and filled with wonderful effects such as flickering candles, bees and dragonflies flitting about, a dragon breathing fire. And we meet colorful characters such as a scarecrow, quirky magicians, a hilarious witchdoctor and even some amusing talking shrunken heads, which are not scary.

Once upon a time there was a prosperous kingdom ruled by a benevolent king. Members of the royal family had the ability to bring paintings to life and by enchantment, you could step into a new brilliant world of your dreams. But a malevolent dragon and his master conquered the kingdom, burning down the houses, creating turmoil, and the Queen, desperate to save her new born baby daughter, Iris, gives the baby to a trusted servant, imploring him to hide her. They are safe for a while in a tower near the sea, but the usurping king finally discovers them and turns the steward into stone and Iris is placed high on the top of the tower.

4.0 out of 5 stars a person in their 50's liked this February 28, 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I haven't played on a computer in a long time. I own no xbox or other game systems. My nephew for Christmas gave me a game to play. I liked that one so much I went out looking for more to play on the computer. This is only my 3rd game that I have played but I found it very enjoyable. I can see where older teens or someone playing lots of games this might seem much to tame and the puzzles to easy. I on the other hand like puzzles to be something I can figure out with a little time. I do not want to spend hours trying to solve a puzzle. I played a little over an hour a day on the game it lasted about a week. Yes I have passed this on to some of my friends, and yes we are older (50's) so I would recommend it to children and older players. When it ends it does seem like it could continue into another game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing May 10, 2010

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I want to start by saying I played Dire Grove prior to playing Drawn, and was expecting another game of the same beauty, quality, and excellence. I think Drawn was made for a younger, less demanding audience. It isn't a typical Hidden Object game, in that you find items within a scene, use them in a puzzle and move on. However, if you are looking for a relatively easy, short game, with a simple story line, then this is it. Some of the puzzles are fun and unique, but I was disappointed that none of the characters moved their faces when they talked. They are shown as still graphics, with voices and written word inserts. And instead of realistically detailed creatures, as in Dire Grove, all of the characters of Drawn are cartoons that move in short, repeated clips. The music clips do the same. A couple of the clips became annoying, and I turned the sound off more than once. Also, the ending is disappointingly abrupt. The ultimate ending hinted at during the story is never fully achieved. I knew it was over when the credits (which you can't speed up or exit out of) started rolling.

If you buy this game, understand what you are getting, and enjoy it on its level, like so many others have.
