This is Charlee's first collection of fiction. Sixteen beautifully brutal tales of hardcore horror. Ten hard-to-find reprints and six new stories all weaving a poetic narrative though horrific landscape of mutilation, darkness and despair.

This review is from: Dread In The Beast (Paperback)
This collection of short stories comes from the vivid imagination of one of the best horror writers in the country. Charlee's work is horrific, extreme and viceral. This is a book you can't put down once you begin, and will give even the most jaded horror reader chills!Warning, this book is _not_ for the faint of heart!

Charlee is a poet!,
By Hertzan Chimera (Oxford, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dread In The Beast (Paperback)
It is that simple. Charlee Jacob is a poet. I have read her novel THIS SYMBIOTIC FASCINATION (which seemed a little over-edited) but this collection of brutal twisted nasty delightful short stories blows that out of the water. DREAD IN THE BEAST is a sustained onslaught of psycho-erotic imagery enough to have you racing to the bathroom to throw up your supper, only to return to the book a third, fourth time, puke still dribbling down your chin as you read. Unstoppable atrocities and knife-edge narrative abound in this volume of physical and mental sickness. It is simply a must read book of the highest quality.
