4.0 out of 5 stars great gate baby gate
We are really happy with this product in spite of the exorbitant cost (the seller's margin must be in the 70% range). We have a 60"wide stair case, and this "fence"-with 2 ten inch extensions did the trick. But you don't get value for money in this configuration since you can't use the extension it comes with. Go over the options carefully and you'll see what I mean if...

3.0 out of 5 stars not so great
Because we are using it to block a hallway, we have a 7" and a 3" extension. It is much better to have a 10" extension instead because the gate is very flimsy and bends at the joints. It looks good, was easy to put up and we like the function of lift and press. It closes well. I don't think this product will last too long and my guess when my child gets older she will...

Go over the options carefully and you'll see what I mean if you need one as wide as we did. On the positive side, the item is well-designed, attractive, easy to use. The pressure fittings have not marred the surfaces where we've placed them. They fit securely. The best thing is the opening gate in the middle which can swing in either direction, a great convenience and easy to manage. We only use it when the grandkids come to stay, so it's on and off frequently, so far without problems.

It looks good, was easy to put up and we like the function of lift and press. It closes well. I don't think this product will last too long and my guess when my child gets older she will be able to just pull it down fairly easily. I would not buy this product again, but have no other brands to compare it to.

4.0 out of 5 stars served it's purpose!, February 22, 2011

We got a new puppy that needed to be confined to one area and we purchased this baby gate and one extention, as we had a 57" opening to cover. The extention helped fit the gate perfectly. For the money, I would recommend this item. The only negative I can say is that I wanted a tension gate to AVOID putting holes in the wall. This gate comes with "cups" they still want you to screw into the wall to hold the gate. We opted not to use the cups but we do have to have these end pieces extremely tight against the wall in order for the door to sit flush and be able to use it. It took lots of elbow grease but once we got it, it works great. Definitely serves it's purpose. Well, the puppy has actually accomplished getting over the gate - but that's no reflection on the gate itself.

I installed this extension w/ swing gate in entry of stairs.
I had hard time leveling this because my stairway rail vertical and wall are not line-up perfectly straight.
Once I adjusted correctly after several try, it's rock solid and works well. No tools & drilling are required.

These are by far the best baby gates ever. I have gotten more comments about them and more people have bought them after seeing ours. I have several dogs and these gates are just the best!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gate Extension - Worked Fine, February 15, 2010
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We got the baby Dream Baby gate for a baby shower, and I needed the extension in order to reach the width of my hallway. This product was easy to find, easy to install and works securely. I think there are two different heights of the gates, so be aware of that while ordering the extension, but I had no issues with that at all.
