About the Author

Bali Rai is a Leicester born and bred Asian and politics graduate. His first novel (Un)arranged Marriage (Corgi) received rave reviews including 'engaging and absorbing' (The Guardian) and a 'rare insight into British and Asian culture' (The Herald). He says: 'I know a lot of Asian kids who don't read books. I guess it's because they don't think their concerns are addressed to them. I want to tackle that.'

This review is from: Dream on (Paperback)
in this book the story keeps you going...i personally couldn't put it down i read it without stopping...its self narrative and is quite effective. It is about a boy and his mates and they love football but the main character, Baljit, who is asian is not allowed to play football...he is about 14 years old, so he can relate to young people..anyway, he makes it into a major league and becomes a pro footballer. In the end his family says the okay to Baljit's football. Good read from Bali Rai
