4.0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun! Suitable for hearing impaired but not visually impaired.
"Dream Chronicles" is mostly a puzzle game, although finding the dream pieces and the pieces to work the puzles adds a bit of hidden object appeal. A bit of hinting is available within the game because of the "shine" given to the hidden objects and dream pieces. If a player is truly stuck, though, a number of walkthroughs are available online. 3.0 out of 5 stars I found the chess puzzle impossible
I enjoyed the beginning of the game but found the chess puzzle impossible and couldn't skip it to continue the game, so I had to quit. I have to add that I am 70 years old and have slowed down. To make the puzzle more difficult for me the sounds didn't correspond with the keys so my musical background made it more difficult.

Because the hidden objects can be so small, I wouldn't recommend this for someone without very good use of vision. All of the dialogue is presented on the screen, though, making it suitable for the hearing impaired.

I would give it 4 1/2 stars, if I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Graphics, September 8, 2009
This review is from: Dream Chronicles 2: The Eternal Maze (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
All of the Dream Chronicles games have amazing graphics and are pretty challenging. I usually have to cheat from the internet one or two times to beat these, but i like that is challenging enough to stump me. Dream Chronicles 3 is the best, but you should play all 3 in order as the story makes more sense.

2.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating, March 28, 2010

This review is from: Dream Chronicles 2: The Eternal Maze (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
Like the original Dream Chronicles, Dream Chronicles 2: The Eternal Maze has nice graphics and really nice music. The music actually stops playing a lot of the time, which bothers me, since I like it. Also like the original, the stupid Dream Jewel thing continues, although now there is an actual purpose where once you collect all the pieces of a Dream Jewel, you "meditate" upon it and learn a "secret." There are too few levels in this sequel, just like in the original. Other similarities to the first game are the stupidity of the story line and the fact that the stupid story line remains unresolved at the end.

Some of the puzzles in this game are fun. However, I found most of them to be frustrating and I spent a LOT of time with walkthroughs online because it isn't clear what you're supposed to do, or because the hidden objects are too small to be found. NOT fun. I admit hidden object games are not my favorite. I get headaches from staring at the screen with my eyes bugging out. I hate the "Simon Says" type puzzles, too; so annoying. I turn the sound off on those and just follow the visual cues. I also hated the puzzles with the keys where, although there is a kind of system to which keys turn the other keys, you basically just have to keep clicking on different keys FOREVER until finally you hit the right combination. Again, NOT fun. And the mazes! Eternal Maze is right.

Not a big fan of this one. I love fantasy/fairy stories, but not stupid, frustrating ones like this one that don't even have satisfying resolutions. I won't be bothering with the third game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining But Short..., March 13, 2010

I loved the game but didn't realize how short it was until my daughter and I played it. I can't wait until I can own all of the games in this series. It is very entertaining, relaxing, and sometimes challenging.

Enjoyed working on this game with my daughter until the computer died that we had it on. Have yet been able to finish, but still fun.
