I spent time comparing and I thought this would be the best mask so I splurged on it. Unfortunately I found it really uncomfortable. The edges are hard so when I would turn on my side I felt the edge of the mask pressing on my temple. Not good. Also there was light coming in at the nose bridge. I think the design is too narrow at the top (I have a small face too). Fortunately they accepted my return with no problem. I now have a $7 mask from Walgreens and it works great!

*Quality: The material and stitching is well done and should last for a long time. The elastic is good quality and hasn't lost shape.

*Fit: The elastic is wide and stretches for flexibility in fit but isn't too stretchy so it stays put. One one side the elastic goes through a loop so it can be easily adjusted.

The mask is quite large. The eye piece measures 4" tall. As a side note, the mask side-to-side measures 10" which fits my face nicely. The mask is about 1/2 inch thick.

The material at the bottom of the mask designed to block light is soft and designed very well - it doesn't flip-flop as this feature does on so many other masks. Rather it keeps shape and blocks light from coming in at the bottom of the mask.

*Details: It is light weight and the cotton covering is very soft. The mask is stiff and keeps it's shape. The contoured eye pockets are a bit too soft and I would like the outer fabric to be a bit stiffer in the eye area to accommodate eye lashes. However, my eyes don't feel pressure and it has performed very well so far (1 month).

Bought this for travel and love it! Very comfortable and blocks all light. Would prefer that it had a front pouch for ear plugs, but even with that down-side, like it better than the Bucky eyeshades purchased (and much better than the five different masks tried over the years).

I find this mask good if you sleep on your back, the eye cavities means that your eye lashes do not rub on the inside of the mask and if you are travelling it means that your eye make-up does not smudge on those business trips.

This is a well made mask that works for me for naps. I have a problem sleeping with anything on my face, so this says a lot. I still can't make it through a whole night with it on, but I think it would work for a normal person just fine. It is a bit thick, so side sleeping is an issue, but this thickness is due to the eye cavities, which are a blessing if you are uncomfortable with masks. I found my old flat masks were giving me eye infections, but I have not had any such problems with this mask. There is a slight gap at the bottom where light gets in, but it is minor. Comfortable on the face, and a great step up from cheaper masks.

I have sampled many sleep masks and this is my favorite. It is well padded and most important, the mask doesn't rub against your eyes. Many other masks aren't designed this way. Makes a big difference in terms of comfort. Along those lines, everyone has a different shape, so one mask will not suit everyone. 4 stars instead of 5 because the strap may rub against your ears. The best designs go around your ears not over.

I have a fairly large nose, and this is the first mask that I've found that doesn't let in light at the cheeks from the nose pushing the mask up/out. However, after about a year a crease developed horizontally across the mask, right over the eyes, from the outward pressure of cheekbones and brow bone. I tried storing it rolled in the opposite direction and secured with a rubber band to no avail. A few months later this crease turned into a crack in the soft plastic substructure of the mask, and the mask now makes contact with my eyes when I wear it. Very uncomfortable. At $20, however, I've decided that it can be a consumable item I purchase every year or so. The earplugs are the same cheap ones you buy at the drugstore, nothing special about those at all.

Edited Dec 5, 2009: Unlike the navy one I had purchased last time since black had been out of stock, this black mask is leaving grayish-blue dye marks on my beige pillowcases. I tried to soak out some of the excess dye and several changes of water turned a dark gray, but it's still leaving marks. Non-chlorine oxygen (color-safe) bleaches are not removing the stains so I have resigned myself to ruined pillowcases - I just make sure the already-damaged cases go on my pillow and not my husband's, so they don't ALL get wrecked. Originally rated four stars, reduced rating to three.

Edited March 18, 2010: This one has cracked (see above) after only six months' use. A year is all right, but six months is pushing it in my book. I now recommend this only for occasional use.

When I was looking for a sleep mask I purchased four different models that looked promising to me. This is the only one that I liked and it's mainly because of the eye hollows and large face coverage. I often get overheated in bed and throw blankets off me, but this mask does not make me uncomfortably warm around the face. I do wish the strap adjusted more easily and in a greater range of slack, but I've made it work for me. Nice product I'd buy again.

I have tried quite a few different sleep masks and all of them have deficiencies of one kind or another. This product by Dream Essentials, is the best I've used so far. It offers an adequate amount of room for my nose which gives it a good fit. Of course this means that less light can get by it. In fact, I have found that this mask can (and for the most part does), block 100% of the ambient light in my bedroom. Speaking for myself, this is a very important feature.

Another feature of this product that I like, is the room it gives to my eyelids - I do not like sleep masks that rest against the surface of my eyelids! The Dream Essentials sleep mask provides a comfortable amount of clearance for them.

In summary, this is a well made and high quality sleep mask that is effective and comfortable to use.

This mask is excellent! I love the design. It blocks out the light every effectively. The mask does not make contact, or put any pressure on my eyes like my old mask did. I like to fact that I can easily blink.
