This is such a handy little gadget. I was pleasantly pleased to find that the light actually lights the entire writing surface once you remove the pen from its holder. It's bright enough to write your thoughts down in the middle of the night when you're half asleep and you don't want to be blinded by turning on the bedside lamp or wake your sleeping partner. The light is focused just on the notecard held in place in the holder. I even like the "feel" when I hold this gadget while writing. The holder is molded on the edges to fit your hand and is very comfortable in your hand to help you steady the item while you're writing. It's a wonderful little gadget -- and good enough for my purpose, which is to jot down notes to myself that I'm afraid of forgetting after I wake up.

I got one for me a poet, and my wife, a fiction writer. I use mine all the time, but the wife is a deep sleeper. And, thanks to this product, she stays that way. Excellent.

This little lighted notepad is the perfect answer for those of us who get creative ideas while we are waiting to go to sleep. The light is sufficiently bright to see and write yet focused enough not to wake your partner. The pen really does write at any angle. This was a great idea!

I've used Nite Note for several years. It is a lifesaver for those who wake up in the middle of the night worrying about things for tomorrow, etc. I make my list of things to remember, the light is low so it doesn't wake my husband, and then I go back to sleep.

I rated it less than 5 stars because last one I got, the pen fell apart and the light then would not work but in the end it's still worth it and I'll buy another.

I bought two Nite Note pads. We had one for a few years and then the switch that is activated when you insert or remove the pen, failed. Recently we were telling a friend about Nite Notes and decided to buy one for her as a present and another one for ourselves. While they arrived in a timely fashion, they came without the batteries. Now, batteries are not an expensive item and like most people, we have a few dozen around the house. But the literature that came with the Nite Notes said they included batteries which they didn't. I sent an email to the supplier to bring this to their attention and to my knowledge, never got a response. Again, it's not the cost, it's the principal. Either include the batteries or change the literature to say batteries not included.

This item was $19.95. It was made of cheap, lightweight plastic. It claimed to come with two batteries, and it did not come with any batteries. The whole point is the notepad, and you can hardly call a few sheets of thick paper a notepad. There were no refills. It's garbage.

This was given to my boss as a gift. He has since reported that it has come in handy on several occassions in the middle of the night. He has been able to write down an idea and go back to sleep without disturbing his wife and with a peace of mind knowing that the inspiration will still be available to him the next morning. The Fisher Pen makes it well worth it!

This product is a life saver as i use mine every night. This is by far the best invention ever!!!! I highly recommend this product to everyone.

Very nice product. Effective as a nighttime tool, would recommend to family and friends. Love it. I would order it again.

When this notebook is working, it's not bad. The light could be a bit brighter and illuminate the pad more evenly but it does the trick. The problem I'm having is that there must be a loose connection somewhere inside because the light flickers on and off without warning and this is very annoying in the middle of the night when I'm trying to write. I shake the unit to get the light to come back on and it does but it will go off again without warning.

This would be an excellent product if: it worked reliable, the illumination was a bit brighter and more even.
