A Beautiful Collaboration,

This is truly a beautiful piece of art, Gitane Demone's and Rozz Williams's voices are beautiful and their poetry takes your breath away. Dream Home Heartache is a work of art with beauty intwined in dark layers of emotions.

this album is truley one of the most depressing albums i have ever heard! but it is also a great album. Rozz Williams and Gitane Demone are always a beautiful combination. this album i will recomend. this is a beautiful album made up of paino, Gitane's pretty vocals and rozz's sorrow filled voice. if you are a rozz williams fan, and you still feel Rozz Williams was "Christian Death" at their greatest! you need this album. this one is truely a uniuqe expierance in his shortend career. he gets really personal for example the song "flowers"...a sad but true testimony of his life with herion. this album will suprise you, once again of his multi talents. a truely heart breaking album.and i love it. Rest In Peace, rozz williams.

A brilliant, dark, intimate album,
By Josh (Boston, NY USA) - See all my reviews

This album is a rather intimate collection of torch songs. The music here largely centers around organ and piano, occasionally adding sparse layers of ambience using other instruments. With beautifully dark and atmospheric tracks to sparse piano torch songs to an interesting cover of Hendrix's "Manic Depression" to the accordian-driven ballad "A World Apart" to the ambience of "Moon Without A Tear", the album is completely brilliant from the opening title track (a cover of Bryan Ferry's "In Every Dream Home A Heartache") to its album-closing turbulant and claustrophic reprise.Rozz and Gitane share vocal duties here, both being in top form. Gitane provides her characteristic torch style vocals, while Rozz's vocals are in his familiar half-spoken/half-sung poetic style. The lyrics here are also very touching and personal, adding to the album's incredible level of intimacy. This album is definitely a must have for Rozz Williams fans, as it is arguably Rozz at his most vulnerable and honest. Its gloomy and intimate atmosphere creates the ultimate album for candelight listening.

Very Un-Rozz like, but still very good.,

I was surprised when I picked up this album. I've heard Christian Death before, but it sounded nothing like this. Rozz and Gitane (Both Christian Death members) created a side project, combining piano, accordians, and synthesizer in a moody blend of very dark and personal music. This album reveals a subdued and personal version of Williams, a side I'd never hope to see. Very good. I'd recommend this album to Rozz's fans, or even fans of folk music or bands like Black Heart Procession or The Cure.

This album is some ov Rozz Williams' most hauntingly melodic,
By A Customer

After several years of work in the "gothic rock" genre, Rozz collaborates with Gitane Demone in this lounge act ov an album. Dreamhome Heartache is a progress album. One can clearly see that the underground's prince ov darkness is moving into realms once left to his spoken word albums. Taking that raw emotion and pharmaceutical mysticism and combining it with the talent of Gitane sets an eerie vocal foreground, with the tones ov a single piano chilling the listener through much ov this release. "Flowers" is by far the most melancholy ov all ( sounding at times like drug rehab therapy sessions ) and Gitane's cover ov "manic depression" could make even Hendrix turn an ear. Well thought out track placement and mixing helps this heartache flow smoothly into the mind ov anyone within earshot, and helps keep the listener focused on the feeling ov the album as a whole. Rozz Williams has surpassed himself again(to noone's surprise).

Rozz Williams made two masterpieces during his life - Christian Death's Catastrophe Ballet and this record. They are two sides of the same coin, and are essential purchases

i have never bought anything of williams or demone before although i had heard some christian death music, but this is wonderful. its not the kind of cd you listen to casually, you can't help but to be pulled into it because of the feeling put into the album. it is a rather sad and not something you could listen to when you are looking for happy music, but is definatly worth it.

The last and Best of Rozz,
By BellaStrega "Bella" (Upland) - See all my reviews

This was never meant to be or compared to ANYTHING Christian Death. Considering the nonsense that happened between Valor and Rozz Williams, I think Rozz wanted to get away from anything with Christian Death at that point.
This collaboration with Gitane DeMone, is hauntingly beautiful. Rozz did something the way HE wanted to. The addition of Gitane, one of the last great vocalists from C.D. just made this album, top in my book. The way she sings Manic Depression...it so unbelievable. She's got the voice of a siren and boy does she use it. I wouldn't say 'belting out' the songs...but if you know how Ms. DeMone sings, then you know what I'm saying. :) "Flowers" sung by Rozz, just takes you to a time and place, that if you ever saw the old C.D. you'd have good memories...but then realize that Rozz is no longer with us, you are moved by this song. I can go on and on, but I won't. AS a true fan of these two talents, I must say, it's worth it....

dull and uninspired,
This review is from: Dream Home Heartache (Audio CD)
This album sounds like it was thrown together in a few days. The previous commentary comparing this to Catastrophe Ballet is absurd. This album is worse than even Valor's recent albums: Sexy Death God, the terrible album that it is, is better than Dream Home Heartache. I have experienced the pain of Rozz Williams -- in my wallet!
