5.0 out of 5 stars Yay! Season 5
I can't wait for the fifth and final season of Jeannie! This was actually my favorite. It had the Bellows more involved in the stories. I found Dr. Bellows and his wife to be hilarious! Great episodes involving appearing and disappearing floors in hotels, the Bellow's nephew stealing Jeannie's bottle with her in it, the house getting redecorated (very cool I might add),...

2.0 out of 5 stars Episodes Not Complete
It's too bad for the price we pay for these sets that the studio cannot release the original uncut, unedited episodes. I've only watched the first few shows from this fifth season set but they are only running 23 - 24 minutes, when shows from this time period still ran somewhere between 25 - 26 minutes per episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yay! Season 5, February 17, 2008
This review is from: I Dream of Jeannie - The Complete Fifth Season (DVD)
I can't wait for the fifth and final season of Jeannie! This was actually my favorite. It had the Bellows more involved in the stories. I found Dr. Bellows and his wife to be hilarious! Great episodes involving appearing and disappearing floors in hotels, the Bellow's nephew stealing Jeannie's bottle with her in it, the house getting redecorated (very cool I might add), old wine making the Bellows invisible and the final episode where Dr. Bellows finally finds out the truth about Jeannie (even if it was a dream it was still cool). This will also complete the entire series and collection for us Jeannie fans! I've waited decades to have this series so it will be good to get this last set. Thank you Sony Entertainment and Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars The last season of my favorite show, January 3, 2008

Many people have criticized the last season of Jeannie as being the worst and that marrying Tony and Jeannie "killed" the show. It might not have been the best idea to marry them since it was the constant pursuit of Tony by Jeannie that so much of the series was based on. On the other hand, how long could you go on with her pursuing him before that alone would have become worn out? In the end, I don't think tony and Jeannie getting married is why this was the last season. This season does have some good episodes on it. My favorite one being the episode with the designer Mr. Halasko who is hired by the Bellows to redecorate the Nelson residence. There are a few other good episodes but one thing that is sad is the lack of episodes with Jeannie's sister. This season only has one episode with the sister and its not my favorite one, either. In the end, I don't think there was a "bad" season of this show, but maybe the 5th season is my least favorite because it was the end. No matter what, if you collect the series, you must have this season, too.

One thing I like in this season is the way they do Barbara Eden's hair. It's gorgeous! And so are many of her fabulous outfits. This season would have been 1969 - 1970. Great MOD era styles!

Most folk's buying this show already know what it's about...
This review is of the release it's self.

The complete and final 24 show's for the fith and final season are packged here.

The set comes in two slim cases with two single sided disc's in each case, each case has a mini summary of each episode on the back .

The "extra's", arn't much , included are a Fantasy Island ( Rouges and Riches)episode and a Bewitched (Junior Executive )episode, I would much rather have had the bonsus's been about the show(as all the main cast -Hayden Rourke are still living).

Personally I really enjoyed watching these episodes, even though it was the last season the show still had plenty of "steam" for a few more seasons. Too bad non of the tv movies were included .

The show can be heard in-Englih, Spanish,Portugese.
Subtitles- Spanish and Portuges(English subtitles, you ask ? Nope...I though that was odd.

If you have season's 1-4 , season 5 should complete your "wish" to own this great show .

5.0 out of 5 stars It may be thend...But in truth it's only the begining....., May 26, 2008
This review is from: I Dream of Jeannie - The Complete Fifth Season (DVD)
This great series may have only lasted 5 seasons, but thanks to Sony who had the insight to relase all 5 seasons and not keep the fans at bay by not releseing all seasons. The Wedding of Jeannie and Tony and up to the very last show that featured Cusion tonys Texas chili by far had some of the best hi-jinks in the series run. I agree their wasnt enough of the Evil Twin Sister, and the rest of Jeannies Family ( Where was gin gin? ) But all in all to own all classic 5 seasons is a treat I know, I for one is going to purchase this set when it does come out. In fact one famous Trivia question has always been "where did Jeannie and Tony spend their Honeymoon? **Buy this set and you will know the answer. ** :o)

5.0 out of 5 stars Jeannie never jumped the shark..., June 4, 2009

Final seasons of a tv show are usually nortorious for doing something to wreck the show.

This show never did, despite the marrige of Jeannie to Tony. It remained just as silly and irreverent right up to the last frame of the final show.

I would have liked to have seen a sixth season, if only to tie up a few loose ends. However, this is one of my all time favorite old time tv shows, and forever will be, as it never took itself seriously, and delivers on the laughs, from the first season to the last.

5.0 out of 5 stars Please release soon, January 10, 2008
This review is from: I Dream of Jeannie - The Complete Fifth Season (DVD)
Can't wait for this season to come out.
I enjoyed the wedding episode myself. Another one I remembered liking was when Tony dreamed they had to tell Dr Bellows about Jeannie. Somehow it was satisfying seeing Bellows finally be told even if it was a dream.
I also liked Jeannie being included with the others finally. The show just ran it's course. As Hagman stated before, the plots were simple and just variations on roughly 4 themes.
I actually met Babara Eden at a telethon on 03 and she was a sweetheart.
So Bring it on Sony!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Dream of Jeannie: The Entire Series, March 8, 2009
This review is from: I Dream of Jeannie - The Complete Fifth Season (DVD)
The charm of the hit series "I Dream of Jeannie" is just as evident more than forty years after its debut in 1965. Barbara Eden, Larry Hagman, Bill Daily and Hayden Rourke are on top of their game in this whimsical set of (mis)adventures. The formula is simple: Jeannie uses her magic power to help, but always ends up getting Major Anthony Nelson in trouble. Then Tony and Major Healey try to get out of trouble, and befuddle Dr. Bellows every time. If you loved the t.v. series, you will love the series on DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like all the collections of "I DREAM OF JEANNIE", January 8, 2009

I hope there are more episodes (collections) of "I Dream Of Jeannie." I sure do feel cheated. Or is it that during the late 60's and early 70's we've been watching re-runs of the 25 minute shows???

This fifth collection is a smash: One of my favorite is the ancient wine which Jeannie offered the Bellows during a dinner gather at their home. What a raucous of laughter this show alone creates.

It really is hard to tell what favorite episode I like best, but all of them (from start to end) are my favorite episodes.

Even my teen-age children (today) loves "I Dream Of Jeannie."
