4.0 out of 5 stars Remember When You Were A Teenager? You Will...
Although I am doing this a bit hesitantly, I can't help but to give this movie 4 stars! This film captures the spirit of the 80's, but it is also relevant to the lives and feelings of teenagers in the new millennium.

10/11: Dream a Little Dream is a quirky dream film to watch but unfortunately has nothing useful to say. However, it is a breeze to watch because of Corey Feldman and Corey Haim, their third film starring together behind License to Drive and The Lost Boys. In a way, the movie feels like a homage paid to Michael Jackson, and that's...

Although I am doing this a bit hesitantly, I can't help but to give this movie 4 stars! This film captures the spirit of the 80's, but it is also relevant to the lives and feelings of teenagers in the new millennium.
It's not the best movie I've ever seen, but "Dream a Little Dream" has quite a good script and motivating music that fits the film well. Corey Feldman did a great job in this flick, and it's bound to capture the heart of any teenager, movie buff, or 80's junkie. Do you remember when you had that annoying love-hate relationship with your parents? Do you remember your first love or perhaps that special someone that you lost? Do you remember that punk who always bullied you and talked (...) about you? What about your "so-called" friends? If your answers to these questions are mostly "yes", then this is the film for you!
"Dream a Little Dream" really is a heart-rendering movie that captures the essence of adolescence. Definitely worth renting. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars A More Accurate Plot Description, April 15, 2010
This review is from: Dream a Little Dream (DVD)
Bobby has a crush on Lainie, the girlfriend of Joel, the school jerk. Coleman is a crotchety old man in Bobby's neighborhood who wants to spend eternity with his wife, Gina, and seeks a mystical way to do it. During one of his experiments, Coleman winds up in the body of Bobby, while Gina ends up in the body of Lainie - only Lainie doesn't realize she's now hosting Gina, but Bobby is completely displaced by Coleman and only accessible through Coleman's dreams. Now Coleman has to convince Lainie that they were husband and wife in another life, put back together Bobby's life, and avoid being killed by Joel, with the help of Bobby's best buddy, Dinger, in order to get everyone in the proper bodies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mrs Haim & Mrs Feldman (UK Babes), May 9, 2001
By
Mrs Haim (NIcola) As two Corey fans(from years ago...), this is definately a cult Coreys film. It reminds of me of the fab 80s, the Brat Pack and the all round "cool"ness that was and is 'dream a little dream'. If you are a fan of either of the Coreys, then definately watch this and reminisce... Mrs Feldman (Melissa) We are huge Coreys fans, so we have seen all of their films and this is by far the best. The soundtrack is fantastic!!!! and I just love my "husbands" dancing! I just wish this film was easier to buy in England as we have worn out our current copy!!!!This is a must film, so go watch it!!!!!!!

This is one of the most unique movies I've ever seen. Very original. It's very much in a class of it's own. It is a fun movie of the 80s with the Coreys in another one of their adventures. However it's not exactly a John Hughs type of movie. Not only is the story a bit different but even the direction, and essence of the movie is different and unique as well. I am not saying that it is a bad movie at all, I really like it for what it is. A cool 80s soundtrack from opening to closing credits. The price of this movie is very generous and worth the buy. Buy it if your a fan of 80s teen movies and add it to your collection. The soundtrack is also available here at Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dinger lives / An 80's gem, April 26, 2004
This review is from: Dream a Little Dream (DVD)
One of my favorite films so defining of the 80's. A classic teen angst high school movie but with imagination. I think Corey Feldman & Corey Haim made a great team in this. This film makes you want to go back to the 80's. I was just going into high school at the time this release in theaters .Watching it nowadays I completely related to Corey Haims character Dinger. Dinger and Bobby are best friends Bobby falls for Lainie the hottest girl in school and has to convince her that she loves him before the night's over but here's the story in an accident Bobby switches his body with the old man next store living life thru his eyes and vice versus. The same thing with Lainie and the old man's wife. A romantic comedy with a twist. Pay attention to the characters and their bond. A great film about friendship & relationships in high school. An essential to collection for anyone who grew up in 80's cinema. I own the DVD and the soundtrack is great too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Metaphysical twist on classic theme, September 10, 2003
Jason Robards is obsessed with transcendental meditation and is constantly trying to get his wife to experiment with him. They live in a classic turn of the century style house near the school - so near in fact that he keeps threatening the school kids who keep cutting through his garden - notably Corey Feldman and Corey Haim. Just as he finally cajoles his wife one night into experimenting with the meditations with him out in the garden, Feldman and his girlfriend, or rather the girl he would like to be his girlfriend, ride through on their bikes colliding with the couple and with metaphysics.

Several improvements are made on the classic "Freaky Friday" theme. For thing, Feldman and Robards are adversaries. For another, it is not just Robards and Feldman that make the switch. His wife has too but she doesn't realize it. She, as Feldman's young girlfriend, doesn't understand why she can't remember her locker combination or dance routines. As Robards, with help from Haim's character, tries to adjust to life as a high schooler in the days of mousse and Michael Jackson, he is haunted by cryptic dreams where Feldman - who seems to know more than he is letting on - warns him that he must make her realize who she is before it is too late and Robard's wife is lost forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never turn away from your true friends, October 16, 2011
This review is from: Dream a Little Dream (DVD)
Dream A Little Dream will bring you back to a more innocent time where you have to realize who your true friends are and be open to a mind changing experience. The only plot I will give you is two people switch bodies after a mind "experiment" which is unseen in hollywood today. This is a masterpiece of music, feelings, angst, and conflict that ultimately finds it's way at the end. The two Coreys are awesome in this and the soundtrack alone will leave a lasting impression. So live the dream by seeing this film.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great show! Blending comedy and serious perfectly., April 19, 2007
This review is from: Dream a Little Dream (DVD)
This is not a John Hughes film, but it is right up there with all of his. Corey Feldman and Corey Haim were always great together, and this little known classic is no different. The soundtrack is awesome from opening to end credits.
I loved this movie when it came out, and now that I own it my own teenager can't stop watching it. There is a subtle underlying message that I didn't really get when I was younger, but it is fun to see my 17 year old daughter relating to the same things as I did nearly twenty years ago.
Corey Feldman blatantly demonstrates his affinity for all things Michael Jackson in an especially fun dance scene. Screen legends Jason Robards, Piper Laurie, and Harry Dean Stanton add a nice depth to this wonderful movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cory Feldman in a good movie ... wow!, February 3, 2008

Who would've imagined, looking back in retrospect at the career on the once young Corey Feldman, that post The Goonies, Stand By Me or The Lost Boys, that he had yet one more classic film in him.

Also, imagine this film starring Jason Robards and Harry Dean Stanton and the film still holding up after, now, almost 20 years later. It's absolutely stunning.

The 1980's saw a plethora of movies flood the market about High School Life, Teen angst and Teenage love tales, mostly lead by John Hughes, the greatest director of this Genre of all time. But, as the '80's waned into a darkness and Hair-bands were all the rage, these films started to be pushed aside by adult coming-of-age films like Grosse Pointe Blank (yes, 7 years later) and other oddities, like Reality Bites, that would make you question what life after High School was really all about. Sure, Teen movies were made en-masse in the '90's, but none had any real viewing power until Brick came about in 2005 and let you know just how absent films like these had been.

But Corey Feldman ...

This really was the Swan Song from an actor who would disappear from film-making and lose himself into bad career choices, bad life choices, a Michael Jackson obsession that would turn sour, Rehab at the Palms and everything else that a typical Hollywood story would be comprised of. Dream A Little Dream is incredibly well paced, well written and equally well acted. Corey Feldman shines in this as the 'Every Teen' with his annoying and whiny friend, who would remain whiny and annoying for years to come. Feldman gives a performance beyond his years here and makes himself into a equal with Jason Robards, even with the crazy bandana, ripped jeans and tennis racket air-guitar.

Was this the last we'll see of this actor? Probably not. Like Crispin Glover, who also struggled with trouble, bad press and bad management in the '90's, he emerged stronger still and resilient. I imagine Corey Feldman might still, undoubtedly star in his generations Casablanca ... but I aint holding my breath for it.
