2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for me, August 25, 2009
This review is from: Dream Lover (Unbound)
I thought I was blessed enough to receive several romances from Marilyn Lee from a friend of mine. Unfortunately, the only thing good I can say is that I didn't pay for them. This one, in particular, grated on my nerves. The "heroine" (I put that word in quotes because there's nothing heroic about her), Jade, is a little girl who has no business playing sex games with a man; and she does play naive, silly games. I can't believe words like "You'll call me, won't you?" were coming out of a Black woman's mouth. She's silly, stupid, naive, childish, and idiotic. Who, in the world today would believe that marriage was going to follow a night in bed with a man that was virtually a stranger? The hero was okay; he seemed a little more realistic. He was why I gave a two-star rating.

I have noticed most of Marilyn Lee's books deal with unrealistic women who think their bedroom skills will automatically get the hero to marry her. And I did find out from my friend who gave me the books that she was trying to get them off her hands. I will be doing the same but not to an unsuspecting friend.

1.0 out of 5 stars wat tha hell is this crap., January 22, 2012
This review is from: Dream Lover (Kindle Edition)
i will agree with the last reveiws this book sucks the wrost kind of azz. frist of all if i have to push a man into tell me he love me than i no its a problem. let him tell u on his on terms. everytime she see him doing some she dnt like she tell him to get lost and than he start beggin bcuz her puzzy is good. thats a load of shxt. she should feel bad n the furture that she had to push him into it. i no its just a book but is it so hard to give the people wat they want. her bllodlust series is the only thing thats wrkin for me right nw. if i ever meet her at a book signing i mite just jump her bcuz as a black women i feel she make us seem stupid and childish and afriad to stand up for ourselves. i dnt men to dis white men but she just make them seem week n my eye. they need to stand up and say yeh bitch the hell which yo whining n altimatums. if this how white men really is im glad i stick to the brothers. all her characters r like this with the exception of bloodlust. but u dnt always have to b a vampire to stand up to confused and dumb black women. overall it just was a waste of my dam money n im pissed off.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard Earned Money Down the Drain, May 1, 2011

This review is from: Dream Lover (Kindle Edition)
I did NOT like this book! Which says alot because there are several of Ms. Lee's books that I love (Fall of Troy, Skin Deep, Teacher's Pet, Trina's Afternoon Delight, Falling for Sharde). I found the heroine immature and childish - she tended to throw tantrums and seemed like she had no insight into how the hero would react to her. She was truly annoying. The book started out fine, a bit unbelievable but fine and the premise had merit, I was actually looking forward to reading it but her behavior was just such a turn off. I couldn't finish it. Not to mention she spoke like she was right out of one of those cheesy 80s romance novels "oh Reed!" no one really speaks that way. If it were just once I could have forgiven her but everytime she backed him into a corner and got a reaction it was "Oh Reed!" how about oh brother, please! And he would get mad and 2 seconds later be apologising! I'm sorry I could not enjoy this at all. The sex scenes were descriptive and it seemed there was some chemistry but even those were not enough to make me like this book.
