This project contains what every gospel album should have. Hope. I felt lifted after one listen. The live atmosphere, along with the big personality from such a tiny person like Maurette, is married together in way that that the two previous studio albums have not. If you like Maurette's music now...after a couple listens of this CD you will LOVE IT! Anthony Brown & Answered Prayers's soaring vocals and harmonies take a cue from Richard Smallwood but then are transformed into something fresh, new, and optimistic. Standouts include Sovereign God, One God, The Dream (awesome), It Ain't Over, and Has God Done Anything for You.

If you are looking for a CD to minister to your heart and meet you where you are, this CD is definitely a must have! Maurette has really outdone herself with this live project! Backed by her faithful background singers and local ensemble, Anthony Brown & Answered Prayers from the Baltimore area, the vocals are superb! For this CD, Maurette has top-notch production and worked with accomplished producer Asaph Ward. The first single from the CD is One God...this will definitely be the church anthem of 2007 and will be sung by praise and worship teams all over! Also, be sure to check out the title track The Dream penned by Brown Clark. This song is very touching and truly captures the very heart of Maurette and her ministry. Another stand out track on the album is Sovereign God. This song proclaims that no matter how difficult our situation is that God is bigger than all our problems. Listen to this track and you will definitely be encouraged about anything that you are going through! Other tracks that are guaranteed to minister and uplift are It Ain't Over, My Heart Has Been Restored, and Alright. Maurette also does a jazz influenced remake of the classic hymn I Have Decided to Follow Jesus and puts her own original spin on it. This album has something on it for everybody and the rock influenced track Has He Done Anything for You? is a testament to that! This high energy track will have you pressing the repeat button over and over and rocking along with the CD! Also be sure to check out I Am What God Says I Am featuring Maurette's daughter, Jada Clark (remember this little girl's name...she's destined to be a star!!) She proclaims that she can be all that God says she can be! Lord We Praise Your Name is another standout track featuring the smooth, heartfelt vocals of Maurette's twin brother, Maurice Brown. Towards the end Maurette joins him and sprinkles the song with adlibs as only Maurette can!

Overall, this is a great buy! If you enjoy praise & worship, uplifting music, and music that really ministers, Go get it today....you WILL NOT be disappointed!

As far as I am concerned, "The Dream" by Maurette Brown Clark is the first "must have" release of 2007 and it will undoubtedly find a place in my annual reflection of my favorite projects of the year.
Though Maurette is a dear friend of mine, I will not allow partiality to dictate this review. What is presented to you and I, on this project, is simply a collection of musical compositions potent enough to brighten anyone's day. That's all. No fluff! No stuff! Just ministry! The Princess of Praise, as she is known by many nowadays, opens this 16 track live recording with a rousing and affirmative song called "One God." I can easily gauge from the intensity of her vocal expression here, that each and every composition ministered to her personally, prior to her unleashing this blessing on us. Four songs on this effort are directly from Maurette's spirit (and pen). The very capable Asaph Ward also lends his production expertise to "The Dream" and the incomparable Professor Richard Smallwood even penned a song here for his student. A huge applause must also be given to the voices backing up Maurette on this project; they are absolutely excellent and quite a compliment to Maurette. I especially enjoyed "Sovereign God" and her testimony serving as the title track, "The Dream." Other faves include, "My Heart Has Been Restored", "I Decided to Follow Jesus" and the vocal debut of Jada Simone Clark, her daughter, on the selection, "I Am What God Says I Am."

I'm just FLOORED by this CD! This thing is absolutely AWESOME!! There's not ONE TRACK that I'm not feelin'! Maurette had just the right writers, musicians....everything is just PERFECT! From beginning to end, the CD is just straight from Heaven. I just can't get enough of it!! This is Maurette's 3rd CD and as the saying goes, "the third time's the charm!" The others were GREAT but they pale in comparison to this one. I could go on and on about this, but I want you to figure it out for yourself. You're SURE to be blessed!!

I have been a support of Maurette Brown Clark's music ministry since her first album. I've seen her minister live a few times and she was the guest soloist in the Women's Day Choir for my church years ago.

This new album is truly annointed. There is a great combination of true praise and true worship music from this anointed psalmist. She is a gifted musician and songwriter. You can hear her passion for the Lord and leading people to him in her songs. My faves are "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus" (classic Maurette improvisation on the end), "I Am What God Says I Am," which is led by her daughter Jada Simone Clark. It shows you that God can use young people at any age. The lyrics are simple, but powerful reminders of Who We Are and Whose We Are. Finally, Sovreign God will lead you to a new place of worship! GREAT JOB MAURETTE! Continued blessings on your upcoming tour and your next musical effort!

I was first introduced to Maurette Brown Clark on an old Bobby Jones show about 13 years ago. (Even before she joined Richard Smallwood and Vision) She sung "Without You", which she ended up later recording on her first album. At that moment, I had a passion for her ministry. So when I surprisingly saw her singing with Richard Smallwood, "Angels", I was amazed and remembered her as being the same young lady I saw on the Bobby Jones Show some years prior. Its awesome to watch how God will elevate you, in His timing, and this is truly Maurette's season. I had to pick up "The Dream", just as I had to pick up her other past two projects. But "The Dream" captures Maurette ministering like never before. And when I read her testimony about how difficult it was getting this project released, its no surprise why the devil didn't want this to reach the nations. My favorites are "One God", "Has God Done Anything for you?", "My Heart Has Been Restored", "Sovereign God", "The Dream", and "It Aint Over". If you don't have this CD yet, you need to do your Spirit a favor, and deposit this treat. You will be full and overjoyed, I guarantee! Also pick up her former two projects if you don't already have them!

One of the purest people you could ever meet, Psalmist Maurette Brown Clark has been riding on the cloud of a 'dream season'. "The Dream" is a well-balanced live project. Recorded at the famed Empowerment Temple AME church, where the pastor is Jamal Harrison Bryant in Baltimore, MD., Maurette cohesively and strategically takes us on a praise-filled and miraculous journey through the life of a real worshiper. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform live and one of the many elements that I personally look for out of a psalmist is the ability to flow in their craft. The consummate artist, Maurette is so smooth and methodical with her range, style and her uncanny ability to theorize musically all while ministering right to the core of our very heart strings. You cannot create or dilute something this unique. Many producers can try to analyze this quality but Maurette Brown Clark has been graced by God's presence. Her band is spearheaded by the extraordinary Asaph Alexander Ward (Miralex Productions) and anchored by Eddie Brown (a masterful keyboardist & arranger), organist & keyboardist PJ Morgan, bassist Sharay Reed, who really crafted a heavenly sound, lead guitarist Tim Mole and legendary drummer Marvin McQuitty, formerly of Fred Hammond & Radical For Christ. This is the definition of a truly awesome band. Every song is well-structured and presents the storyline for the album. The mellifluous "One God" is preceded by a penetrating band intro and then transitions into the Clark-penned "Has God Done Anything For You". Other blazing songs follow: the soulful "I'll Praise Him," "I Have Decided..." (my favorite), Jonathan Nelson's beautiful "My Heart Has Been Restored," the innocent "I Am What God Says I Am," which features her daughter Jada, the strong delivery from songwriter/choir director Anthony Brown and his ensemble Answered Prayers in "Sovereign God," the confessional title track, "The Dream," "Lord, We Praise Your Name," the Donnie McClurkin-penned "We Worship You" & the song that has changed lives in this amazing prophetic season, "It Ain't Over." Overall, this cd is an instant classic. This is no longer a dream but a new chapter on the horizon of a progressive and glorious career. Can't wait for the next project!

How do you describe something that really can't be described?!?!?! It can only be experienced!!! All I can say is this project provides a sure glimpse of His Glory!! It is ridiculous, and I thank God that apparently He and Maurette Brown-Clark have a beautiful love relationship!! Yes...ANOINTED, QUEEN ESTHER'S FAVOR, HEART OF DAVID...!!!! All of that! Praise you Jesus!!!

There is no better word to describe this work of God through Maurette Brown Clark than ANOINTED! This CD is an absolute must have. From the beginning until the end she leads you into an awesome praise and worship encounter with God like no one else. She is unique and has poured herself, her spirit, into these songs and they are destined to bless you. Do not wait any longer. You need this CD in your life!

WHEN I HEARD HER PROJECT WAS COMING OUT, I COULD NOT WAIT. I KNEW THAT SHE HAD SPENT TIME IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD AND IT WOULD BE A BLESSING TO MANY.... I TRULY WAS NOT WRONG!!
