I had been looking for a mattress that exceeded the typical soft 2 inch style for the Graco Pack and Play. With this product, even with the standard pad that came with the product and the 2 inch mattress was too flimsy and my granddaughter could feel the bars of the base and therefore couldn't rest when we traveled away from home. Imagine yourself sleeping on a hide a bed sofa and feeling the springs and such of that and you will understand how uncomfortable she was.

This mattress IS firm! It gives full support for the unit and she is more comfortable resting. I highly recommend it for anyone that travels with their baby.

This mattress was pretty much what I was looking for. I wanted to use it in my daughter's Graco Pack N Play because she wouldn't nap in it because it was too hard. Well, this mattress is probably just as firm as the bottom of the Pack N Play and she still won't sleep on the mattress (she seems to like a softer mattress), but nevertheless the mattress is exactly what I expected. So if you are looking for a super firm mattress for baby, this one fits the bill. It does fit in my Graco pack n play, but it does leave a tiny bit of empty space on one of the sides, if anyone else out there is wanting to use it for this playpen. It has come in handy, however, because it raises my daughter up higher and has been great for helping her practice pulling herself up to standing position in the playpen and for cruising around in it. So if anyone else out there is wondering if it will fit in their Graco, it definitely does, just expect a couple of inches of extra space on one of the long sides.

I'm lucky enough to have my granddaughter overnight every Saturday, but she's been sleeping in the play n play because I have no crib. However, the folds in the floor pad don't make a flat surface & it certainly doesn't have thick enough padding. I was using 2 extra thick baby comforters but with all her rolling around trying to get comfortable, I was worried she would get tangled up. I bought the Dream On Me 3" extra firm portable crib mattress after reading good reviews. This was the best purchase I've ever made. I bought a play yard sheet that fits the mattress perfectly. Everyone was right about there being about an inch gap on each side, but now I know where to look for her pacifier! Now she sleeps though the night & wakes up smiling. I cannot say enough about this mattress. No crackling plastic noises, and no odor like I read about some of the other mattresses. I would recommend this to everyone, including Graco, who should list it on the box as a "suggested accessory piece".

I ordered the Dream on me 3" extra firm mattress for my new grandson since portable cribs come with a cheesey little 1/2 inch mattress that basically has the baby sleeping on the wooden bottom of the crib. He sleeps very well on it and seems to be comfortable. I read so many reviews complaining about the mattress not fitting pack & plays, well the reason for that is it is for portable cribs and not for pack & plays so I do not understand why so may complaints of it not fitting pack & plays. It is a wonderful reasonably priced replacement mattress.

I would never put a newborn on this mattress. It would be similar to sleeping the floor. Newborns need a firm mattress but this is ridiculous. Too firm. Amazon helped me return it easily and that was wonderful. I will be purchasing a 50 coil 6" thick mini crib mattress from Walmart, hopefully the next purchase is less rigid.

Other reviews made me wonder if this were going to be too hard, but I'd say it'd be just right for almost any baby/toddler accustomed to a reasonably firm crib mattress. It's not like a 'brick' - just quite solid/dense, but does have SOME 'give'. If the softer version is softer than this, I'd say it's too soft, and of course firmer is safer for young children. I got this for the pack-n-play while we stayed at relatives' for Christmas, and it was a very good crib alternate for my 18-month-old. We did buy the offered mattress pad/sheet to go with it, but found them to be unnecessary - my son did fine with just the mattress and an ordinary crib sheet over it. Oh, and yes, as other have said, there is about 2 inches' gap between mattress and an average pack-n-play - while a little annoying, we simply packed towels/sheets/blankets tighly around the edge gaps to fill them in. Better than the mattress being too big and not fitting in at all, I guess!

This is a nice, firm, well-covered mattress. Unfortunately, it is just a little too small (width-wise) for the Graco Modern Pack 'n Play Playard with Bassinet & Changer, Zurich. My husband, who will usually try anything, just isn't comfortable with the gap for our little baby on the way. Yes, we could stuff it with something, but as first-time parents we're just not comfortable with that for a tiny baby, but we may keep the mattress for later, since it was so affordably priced. I should have listened to my gut and stuck with the Pack 'n Play as-is, but so many people said they preferred an added mattress I thought I'd try it. (if you were thinking of adding it to the bassinet part, it's actually a little too short length-wise for that part.)

Now then, when I say "Firm," I mean FIRM. This is one very very firm mattress!

For those looking for sheets to fit this mattress -- the Carters Quilted Woven Playard Fitted Sheet, Sage just barely fits on it very tightly, with a bit of effort, before washing. I haven't yet washed it to see if shrinkage makes it much worse, however.

I read the reviews on this AFTER I had already purchased the mattress- whoops! Once I read them I was very worried that I had ordered a terrible mattress. I don't know why people think it's hard as a rock- I don't think it is. It is very firm yes- but it still has give- not like the sleeping on the floor as one person suggested.

This mattress fit in my Anabelle mini crib perfect. It doesn't just slide in though- one end in at a time and it will work. No gaps.

I purchased this mattress for my third baby, knowing how important it is to have a somewhat firm surface for a baby to sleep on to prevent SIDS. The description says "extra firm" and I thought that was exactly what I needed. But I didn't expect it to be so uncomfortably hard. This mattress is really solid, really extra firm - TOO firm, in my opinion. I tried lying down on it even, and it has no give even under my pregnant lady body weight of 145 lbs. I was worried about it causing physiological dysfunction in a growing baby (like pressing too hard on their soft heads and causing a flat spot or something), so I sent it back immediately. I'm going to go with either the softer version of this mattress, or go with the coil mattress. It's too bad there aren't better options out there for mini cribs.

We wanted to make use of our portable playpen that has a very thin hard and thin cushion for a mattress. The baby would not sleep on it. We bought this mattress but were unsure if it would work. It did..sleeps great on it!

Couple things to note..this adds height to the crib so once the baby gets closer to sitting up, it cannot be used without dropping the crib down. It also is just slightly smaller than the portable but it still works great.

If you are in doubt and using one of those portable cribs, get it. IT works. I also recommend a swaddle.
