The cards teach you the 55 most common dream symbols. They offer a direct message to you if you pull this card as part of an oracle, then there is in depth explanation of the meaning of the symbol and finally a short and sweet right on the nose mantra to carry with you ( sort of like a DNA summery of the entire card).
I find the meanings very well rounded, a blend of honoring the traditional dream history of the symbol as well as bringing in a new age twist - which is highly needed in this day and age.
I have had extraordinary results just pulling a card a day, or as needed here and there - for myself and for other people. Literally cards have fallen from the deck and ended up being spot on and also very healing. I have given away around 8 decks so far and keep hearing about how much they are helping people be connected to day and night time dreams.
I have had the honor of taking workshops with both Kelly Sullivan Walden and the Fusion Artist Rassouli and can attest that the cards are a true reflection of the love and dedication that to these two people have put into their life work: empowering people to live from the guidance of their highest selves through dream work and art.
The concept of these cards is ill-conceived. The idea that anyone would need to pull a card and then meditate on it to elicit a dream on that subject (this is what the book advises) is senseless. Dream work should come from symbols already in one's life or subconscious, not from an oracle card. If the book and cards were significantly better written, I could see a deck like this potentially making sense if it were titled "symbolic oracle" but even then the book would need to be completely revamped.
If one wants to do dream-work you are far off better buying any of the wonderful books on dreams or a dream-dictionary.
The artwork however is quite beautiful and has a sort of retro-60's feel to it. I was expecting something far more elevated and intellectual. However if you want to toss the book and use these differently for symbolic work you won't be disappointed with the lovely images.
These cards are a real labor of love and are beauty personified on all levels. They make awesome gifts, especially a gift to yourself.
