"Dream Quest" delivers exactly what it promises--"8 Easy Steps" to understanding the dreams you dream. The steps Vonda Brewer outlines in her book are straightforward; her formula works when one learns how to apply it to their dreams.
Vonda begins by describing her history and background with dreams and dream interpretation, particularly her background as a Christian. Yes, this is a Christian book, written with godly wisdom and insight that has come to Vonda through the gifts of the Spirit and through her journey to draw closer to the Lord. Understanding her background in this arena helps the reader understand where she is coming from and why she is qualified to teach this subject.
As the book progresses, Vonda teaches us why humanity, can believe that He still speaks through dreams (and visions) today and how such a thing has worked in the past--all supported by the Bible. She sites many Biblical examples, and references essential information from other godly dream interpretation "teachers." Vonda shares the "10 Key Principles" to dream interpretation before diving into the specific dream types. She helps you to discover through the context of your dream what type of dream you are having and what message may lie within it.
Not all dreams are prophetic, but ALL dreams mean something. They can be very simple or complex.Read more ›
Vonda makes every effort to reference text/scriptures from the bible concerning dreams (of course its a biblical based book). Its not thrown together, but rather she takes the time to go into detail of the different types of dreams and provide various examples of each. The interpretation process is very simplified and organized.
One of the most important things I got from this book is that symbols in dreams have individual meanings. You can't assume that if someone dreams about the color yellow it means happiness, because not everyone depicts yellow as a "happy" color. You have to ask what does the color yellow mean to you or to that individual. Colors, animals, people, places, food etc... all mean something different to each person and you have to draw on what it means to you to help with the interpretation of your dreams.
With this book I've been able to make sense of my dreams (no matter how illogical) and understand the issues of my heart, especially the issues so well hidden that I wasn't even conscious of them. And what I thought was dejavu (already seen) was actually something I dreamed before it happened (prophetic dreams). If you're serious about understanding your dreams and what God is speaking to you during the night, get it. If your not, get it for someone who is.
