Book Description

Most dream dictionaries contain brief, overly generic meanings of the universal symbols that appear in our dreams. Dream Sight is different. With in-depth, classic meanings and an empowering technique for personalized interpretation, Dream Sight is the most complete and balanced guide to understanding your dreams.

Based on twenty years of experience, psychologist and renowned dream expert Dr. Michael Lennox presents his easy and practical three-step approach. Begin by reading the universal symbols in your dreams, then consider the context, and finally pinpoint your unique personal associations. This method leads to deeper, more profound interpretations that will unlock the mysteries of your unconscious mind. You'll also get insight into common types of dreams—recurring, precognitive, nightmares, and more—plus advice for remembering your dreams and looking at them objectively.

Combining warmth and a touch of irreverence, Dream Sight is both a unique teaching tool and a fun reference guide that gives you everything you need to understand your dreams and your innermost self.

Features an alphabetized list of over 300 dream symbols and images with classic meanings

Praise:

"Dr. Lennox is a brilliant alchemist with wisdom, vision, and skill. He masterfully directs his clients to the world within to gain access to their power and redirect their lives with precision."—Dr. Alex Charish, creator of the fitness program Exercise for Real People™

5.0 out of 5 stars Best dream interpretation book March 15, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I've read so many dream interpretation books/manuals and this one is definitely the most comprehensive. The beginning part of the book guides us to understanding our dreams in general. The latter half lists a number of dream symbols and various interpretations. Very user friendly format. I would also add that each symbol is described in great depth. There is a really good amount of information in this book to effectively interpret most any dream.

I keep this book next to my bed. I've been able to very effectively dissect many dreams by reading up on the symbolism, which Michael Lennox so accurately and eloquently describes for each one. I have gained much insight and awareness. I've also had a personal dream interpretation by the author and it was spot on. He really knows his stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE... March 27, 2011
Format:Paperback
I will make this review short because we all have short attention spans these days...and I want you to read all of this! This book will change your life and help you as you transition through so many of life's challenges. Dr. Michael Lennox has the insight to allow us all to reveal to ourselves what our dreams can give to us. He gives us the power to be observers of our own lives and encourages us to explore our thoughts and use them to be present and involved in our own growth and development. Smart and easy to interpret, Dream Sight is a gift that we must give ourselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Dreams from Michael Lennox February 15, 2011
Format:Paperback
My friend Debra was one of Michael Lennox's guests and subjects on his podcast, so I got her Dream Sight.
Here's what she had to say about how helpful and useful it is:
"'Dream Sight' is the smartest book on dream interpretation I have ever read.
Dr. Lennox provides an intelligent and valuable tool for all who desire to understand their unconscious minds and direct life from total awareness.
I am a vivid dreamer. This morning I used it for the dream I had last night . It was helpful because it brought to my conscious mind behavior that was at work in my unconscious mind .
He refines your "dreaming lens" by asking questions. The answering of these questions gave me clarity and a new self awareness.
He wasn't trying to convince me of anything but instead compassionately guided me to understand the symbols my mind presented to me in dream form.
'Dream Sight' opened a new window to my inner self . I was able heal unconscious beliefs and move forward to living my best life.
Sweet dreams, Debra Swihart"

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn how to listen to the Dream-making you! March 27, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have been writing down my dreams for... well, a very, very long time. But nobody ever described such a clear practice of how to listen to the dream-making me. I read so many paragraphs and said "Wow! I have never thought of that." and then instantly came the second thought "But of course, how else could it be?"

I devoured this book, knowing that I wouldn't absorb all the nuances and would have to return later. But that night, I followed Dr. Lennox's advice and left a pad and pen on my nightstand. Three times during the night I awoke and groggily wrote down a dream in the dark. The next morning as is my current habit, I wrote them into a dream journal. Thinking back on the book, I decided to try one of practices described in the book. I am used to the idea of practicing patiently so I was not expecting any profound revalations, but after maybe fifteen minutes of what the Doctor describes as "ruminating" I came to the most astonishing and completely new understanding of something I had been struggling with in my life for months. While not complete, and not necessarily "the answer", some up-to-now unheard part of me was asking new, powerful and revealing questions.

I would say that I can't wait to go to bed and dream now, but that's not true. I want to go out to my life and insist on answers to the questions my dream-making self has asked.

While not really "self-help" and not really pop-psychology, this is a very interesting and simple guide, with a set of practices that seem, at first try, to be quite powerful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not scholarly at all... March 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The book was interesting and may be helpful for creating meaning out of dreams, but I had hoped that the author would have come from a more studied and authoritative background, and would have had something more substantial to say than "this is how I do it and it seems to work fine".

Dr. Lennox's method is interesting enough, but...
poor index, or maybe Dr. Lennox and his patients always have different dreams than me...

5.0 out of 5 stars A great solo read; fantastic for reading with friends. January 14, 2013
By Avoidy
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The dictionary format works really well for this concept. Flip to the word you're looking for, and bam, there's a basic meaning of the object (symbol) in your dream, questions to consider about the symbol, and an analysis of the symbol. Also great for any writing students. Once you read this, you'll start seeing symbols everywhere.
