I've read so many dream interpretation books/manuals and this one is definitely the most comprehensive. The beginning part of the book guides us to understanding our dreams in general. The latter half lists a number of dream symbols and various interpretations. Very user friendly format. I would also add that each symbol is described in great depth. There is a really good amount of information in this book to effectively interpret most any dream.

I keep this book next to my bed. I've been able to very effectively dissect many dreams by reading up on the symbolism, which Michael Lennox so accurately and eloquently describes for each one. I have gained much insight and awareness. I've also had a personal dream interpretation by the author and it was spot on. He really knows his stuff.

I have been writing down my dreams for... well, a very, very long time. But nobody ever described such a clear practice of how to listen to the dream-making me. I read so many paragraphs and said "Wow! I have never thought of that." and then instantly came the second thought "But of course, how else could it be?"

I devoured this book, knowing that I wouldn't absorb all the nuances and would have to return later. But that night, I followed Dr. Lennox's advice and left a pad and pen on my nightstand. Three times during the night I awoke and groggily wrote down a dream in the dark. The next morning as is my current habit, I wrote them into a dream journal. Thinking back on the book, I decided to try one of practices described in the book. I am used to the idea of practicing patiently so I was not expecting any profound revalations, but after maybe fifteen minutes of what the Doctor describes as "ruminating" I came to the most astonishing and completely new understanding of something I had been struggling with in my life for months. While not complete, and not necessarily "the answer", some up-to-now unheard part of me was asking new, powerful and revealing questions.

I would say that I can't wait to go to bed and dream now, but that's not true. I want to go out to my life and insist on answers to the questions my dream-making self has asked.

While not really "self-help" and not really pop-psychology, this is a very interesting and simple guide, with a set of practices that seem, at first try, to be quite powerful.
