Dream Spiral is an excellent cd which not only relaxes but brings you to another level of music. From the beginning to the end, each song seems to be crafted uniquely with color, vibrance and depth the likes I have experienced with only a handful of musicians. The music of Dream Spiral is appropriately named as it is otherworldly, melodic and hauntingly beautiful.

I don't know what else to say about this, other than what I've just said in the headline of my review. This thing is heart-wrenchingly beautiful and easily one of the most engaging albums in my collection. Since Hilary's amplified harp is the primary instrument here I will not go into details on each piece of music. I will just say that the harp combines blissfully with beautiful violin and guitar and other orchestration for over forty two minutes to produce eight of the most beautiful and relaxing tracks of music I have ever heard.

Overall this is a slow recording ideal for relaxation and rest. One piece, ISLAND SWEETS, is mid-tempo and a LITTLE BIT faster, but still fairly slow and easy. As I stated before this is a lovely recording. If you want to unwind at the end of a stressful day with beautiful and very happy music, you can't go wrong with this disk. Peace. I have had Dream Spiral since 1991, when I found it in the Nature Company. Both Dream Spiral and Edge of Forever followed me through the years and countries, and have been replaced many times due to "permanent loan" and natural elements (like falling overboard on the sailboat)...Both attended my wedding reception...They helped me through pregnancy and labor, and now rock my son to sleep...I found out I resided very close to the artist while in CA, and that made me even more of a fan, being able to see him.
Hilary Stagg's art is a permanent part of my life due to it's soulful, smooth texture. I feel lucky to have found it.

I teach high intensity fitness classes. Because of the level of difficulty and intensity it is vital (and sometimes difficult) to refocus everyone at the end of class for stretching, deep breathing and relaxation. Hilary Stagg is undeniably the best of the best when it comes to relaxation without boredom. This music was one of the first relaxation tapes I purchased and is just as fresh and unique as it was 5 years ago! Dream Spiral is still the music the class requests for cool down. I `ve even had other instructors request the name of the music because members of their class had mentioned how much they loved the cool down music I used when I had taught the class! If you need a stress reliever that is unique (you hear something different each time you listen to it), this is it!

I've had this one since 1996 and it's the only one in my collection that I keep going back to when I need to relax.
This is the CD I'm taking to the delivery room next month to have my baby.

I bought this CD several years ago and still do not get tired of it. I get great results from it for relaxing me during the day and also as a relaxation CD to help me get to sleep. For anyone that wants to enjoy just music, I would recommend this CD without hesitation.

I first heard about this cd through another reviewer on Amazon. I sampled the songs and knew that it was just what I was looking for. Hilary is a master at the harp, and the songs he plays on this album are soft and supple. It will sound relaxing in the office without distracting you from your work.

Yet it also rewards closer listening. The lovely, lilting harp lines will stay in your system for a long time.

Another thing I like about this cd is that the melodies are not repetitive. Each song has its own sound. It is the perfect gift to get for someone who is looking for music to play at work or at home while relaxing.

It is also one of the few albums I have that my wife will let me play at night while she is trying to sleep!

I knew I had to get it the first time I listened to the samples online even with the crappy speakers of my computer. Incredible that something this beautiful can be created!

If you like harp and/or New Age music, titles by Hilary Stagg are for you. In addition to this album, I also own Sweet Return and The Edge of Forever. Beautiful harp playing. Definitely satisfies the harp lover in you!
