Cute, but no support,
By
This review is from: DreamGear i.Sound Time Travel iPod Speaker System (White) (Electronics)
No support renders the unit useless.
My son got this for Christmas. It's cute, and the sound quality is fine (about what you'd expect from a small unit like this). The Time Travel is designed to work with iPods, of course. Since iPods come in many sizes, the Time Travel comes with "fitting brackets" that align the electrical slot at the bottom of the iPod with the male end at the top of the Time Travel. My son has a 8GB iPod nano, but the fitting bracket for nanos didn't align things properly! (Not even close.) He was upset and disappointed, but I told him not to worry -- that the solution would probably be as easy as calling iSound and asking for the bracket for his model iPod. After all, the box clearly says "for all iPod models." I went to their Web site and sent an email to the support email address. I didn't get a response after 3 days, so I called and got voice mail. I left a detailed message, and asked them to call me back. No one called back. Today I called again -- VM again -- and left another message. Does anyone actually work at iSound? Selling this product without a properly sized bracket is bad. Providing no support is worse. If you buy this product you better cross your fingers and hope it comes with the correct parts.

I bought this unit in black, it drains my ipod in about an hour. Drains it completely dead, I tried it twice. Also, despite item description, this unit has no S-video or audio/video outputs at all. Even if it worked, it's too complicated to use the alarm function on a daily basis - needs much refinement. I wanted to review the white one as well to let people know about the problems with it. Nice & small, great idea, but it needs reworking.

I received this item for Christmas 2006 as I wanted something small and compact by my bed. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to use, looks cheap and the sound isn't great and after a few months of use the front fell off ...... but I guess you get what you pay for!
