Product Description

I have produced a three-hour documentary on DVD "We Dreamed the Dream Cars"; the history of styling of American cars. It includes over 500 pictures of design concepts, experimental and prototype designs, clay models, etc. and stories of many car designers and design programs. Included is previously unpublished info and photos of the creation of the first Thunderbird, show cars, and Mopar muscle cars. .....John Samsen

VIRGIL M. EXNER JR. TRIBUTE TO JOHN SAMSEN'S "WE DREAMED THE DREAM CARS!" John Samsen has produced a beautiful and history worthy DVD disc that takes us through the real beginnings of art and design of the automobile, the genuine car design process, and his important role in the production of many well known American vehicles over the past 50 years. As is his website, it is beautifully illustrated with his wonderful collection of not only his, but the works of many famous car designers who he met, knew, and designed with. It is an extremely colorful presentation of his excellent taste and forethought as well as his own life experiences with automobiles and family life. John, certainly, creates an overall portrait of the life, mostly fun and many times frustrating, that a good artist with design conviction goes through from his always needed love of of cars, to the design rendering learning process, and to the three dimensional models and prototypes he builds. Auto aficionados, as well as anyone interested in industrial design, architecture, or art forms of any kind, should make this DVD a prominent part of their library. May they 'dream along with us'.
