This song is included in Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers (Deluxe) as Track 15. "I Dreamed a Dream" is performed in the Glee first-season episode named "Dream On." In that episode, guest star Idina Menzel (Shelby Corcoran, coach of rival glee club, Vocal Adrenaline) sings a duet with Lea Michele (Rachel Berry). This is a very difficult song from the 1980 musical, Les Misérables, but both Berry and Menzel are completely up for the challenge. Though Berry does a great job with this song, as she does in all her "Glee" performances, Menzel is in a class all her own. She received the 2004 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in Wicked, and her voice and powerful delivery are superlative.

Duet with these two is always fun, but the passion of this song is amazing! If you are looking for a great version, this is it!

I think I like the glee cover of the song more than I like the actual artist for the song! Go Glee!

There is no question that the cast of Glee has shown to do more in the way of cover songs, than opting to really have original material all their own. It truthfully has had its shares of highs and lows because of this method. But, now they've chosen to take in a piece of the pie that Susan Boyle had shown with Glee's rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from The Music Of Glee: Volume 3. Glee's version just doesn't feel like the way it was when Susan took to the stage for the first time on Britain's Got Talent, and just drove the shock around the world home. It feels like it has a lack of strong chemistry in the interface of the song. Glee dreamed their dream, but it doesn't feel like it is serenity.
