1.0 out of 5 stars Dreamer's Dictionary Review
This is not a very current book. The descriptions are very old and do not reflect modern explanations. I was very disappointed in this book.

Having closely examined literally dozens of dream books from the name-du-jour to Carl Jung, since I first acquired a dog-eared copy The Dreamer's Dictionary 19 years ago, I must conclude that people dream differently. But for me, whether a symbol is dreamed, or wanders across the floor at some revealing moment, I trust the Dreamer's Dictionary to illuminate the meaning. In my life quest I have established many useful methods -- and one of those is to use my manually scanned & OCR'd copy of T.D.D. to do quick searches. It's very revealing. I can say this, about my supposition on dreamers: even when I examine the dreams of OTHERS I have found this book accurate and helpful about 85% of the time -- and that it is a big improvement over the others I have tried.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but better than some others I've read..., February 23, 2001

This review is from: Dreamer's Dictionary (Mass Market Paperback)
I have several books on dream interpretation, and none I've found yet seems to be the perfect one for me. I do agree with another reviewer that different people dream differently, and we might need different interpretations of our dreams. This book works for me some of the time, but not all.

The individual entries are fairly long and complete, however I wish there were more entries. At 382 pages, you'd think a lot would be covered (and it is), but I do know when I go looking for an item, about a third of the time it's not there. All in all an ok book, and one which suits my needs some of the time, but not the be all and end all of dream dictionaries, at least not for me.

I think out of all the dream books i've seen, this one gives the best interpretations, and it very easy to understand and use.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Dream Book I Own to Date, August 1, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dreamer's Dictionary (Mass Market Paperback)
I have several dream books in my library (whose names I don't want to mention) but this is, by far, the best I've encountered for dream interpretation. I am one who truly believes that dream interpretation can reveal meanings that we can use in our everyday lives. Any time I can recall my dreams vividly or in symbols, I write them down in a journal and reference the book. Each time, this book proves to be very accurate.

My book is over 10 years old, the front cover's fallen off, the back cover is bent up, the intro page is ripped in half ... I think I really need a new one! Thank goodness the book is still in print.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for dream interpretation, November 19, 2002

I have an old worn copy of this book from it's first printing in the UK. It travels the world with me, and is much used. Pages falling out and falling apart. Book held together by rubber bands.

I recommend this book whole heartedly if you are interested in the meaning of your dreams.

Please make sure you read the introduction a few times to understand how to use the book.

I have been searching for a new copy for awhile, and was quite surprised to see a new printing.

I really recommend this book to anyone interested in knowing the meaning of their dreams.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a Dictionary, February 26, 2005
This review is from: Dreamer's Dictionary (Mass Market Paperback)
This book has only a few pages of how to interrpret your dreams, writing a journal, etc. The rest are words from A to Z.
People, places, things in dreams I never even thought of. This book is a great tool in deciphering dreams.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your dreams are really telling you something - listen!, December 30, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Dreamer's Dictionary (Mass Market Paperback)
I presently own the May, 1975 version and I am looking for the newer version. As I normally use this book almost every day, I have actually worn most of the print off my cover and even had to tape the cover back on several times. I am truly amazed at how I can look up a dream and then, "bingo", the predictions come true! It's utterly amazing! There have even been times that I woke up in the middle of the night and have either written down my dream, or taken out my dream book and analized it right away for fear that by breakfast, I may not be able to recall all the details. Wonderfully entertaining book for all year round and almost any age. Everybody continues to dream which will always leave a use for this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Dream Interpretations, May 19, 2000
This review is from: Dreamer's Dictionary (Mass Market Paperback)
I have been a serious student and now an adept practitioner and teacher of dream interpretation for many years. Any serious student knows we must ultimately rely on our own inner knowledge for the best interpretations. However, guide books can be helpful. I have read many books on this subject, but this one has proved to contain the most accurate interpretations for me. I would highly recommend it.

If you believe that your dreams are a crystal ball to the future this book is for you. If you are seriously trying to analyze the meanings of your nocturnal theater, FORGET THIS BOOK! Every third dream symbol is an omen of impending financial success and every other third symbol is an omen of financial ruins. Save the money and read your horoscope in the newspaper.
