Book Description

January 1, 2009
Poetry. A DREAMER'S GUIDE TO CITIES AND STREAMS, Joan Gelfand's latest collection of poems, is a remarkable journey. With an artists eye and a seeker's soul she takes the reader from Tuscan olive groves to a family's Seder table. Using humor and introspection she asks questions, states opinions and tell tales all which leave one, as she says in "Anthology Sonnet," with "a delicious taste that lingers."

5.0 out of 5 stars The book's just dreamy!, July 8, 2009
This review is from: A Dreamer's Guide To Cities and Streams (Paperback)
A Dreamer's Guide to Cities and Streams still has me in a dreamy mood. My favorite poems in the collection were "I've Started Listening to Barbara Streisand, Again," "Requiem for a Dying World," "Dichotomy Sonnet," "Passover," "New York Park," "Daddy-O," "Recipe for Diana," and "Meditation on the Seventh." I love the sense of humor that shines through all that beauty.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a Poem, It's a Work of Art, It's pure Joan Gelfand, April 12, 2009
This review is from: A Dreamer's Guide To Cities and Streams (Paperback)
Joan Gelfand inspires you to dig into all your memories, hopes, all dreams--whether they are rooted in the city or the countryside. After reading each poem, you want to curl on the coach and talk with Joan about life and art. Most of all, she makes you think and unlock your imagination. Only the good artists in the world can make this happen. Looking forward to the next oeuvre.
