5.0 out of 5 stars Following a dream revealed, August 10, 2009

This review is from: A Dreamer's Log Cabin (A Woman's Walden) (Paperback)
Laurie Shepherd was a teacher who gave up her livelihood to build her own log cabin in northern Minnesota. This journal is her account of the building process with an explanation of her personal lifestyle choice and its satisfaction.

I read this in one evening in about two hours. The narrative is so engaging that you want to keep on reading.

Knowing the author from childhood has made this book particularly special, but it's well written, a delightful read, and will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Laurie Shepard has an incredible ability to make you feel like you are with her in her cabin... it's such a beautiful book that will make you feel wonderful and at peace with the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Dreamer's Log Cabin, August 9, 2010

An inspirational must read for anyone with a dream, particularly the log cabin dream; but also motivating and inspiring for anyone, in any challenging endeavor. I passed it on to other homesteader friends. Many people have that "log cabin dream", but few actually accomplish it. This book is a fascinating chronicle of living the dream.
