About the Author

Ted Hughes wrote numerous collections of poems, stories and plays for adults and children. He was the Poet Laureate for the last fourteen years of his life, and was appointed to the Order of Merit in 1998. In 1976 he became Founding President of Farms for City Children, a charity which still brings disadvantaged children from urban areas for a week to work on a farm in the countryside. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

These stories are so interesting: stories about God's creation of different animals, both sucesses and failures, and their quirks. Told with an unique sense of humor. Hughes is very original and imaginative.
