A Dream-Like Melody Done Well....,
By Jordan Galea (AUSTRALIA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dreaming (Audio CD)
FIRSTLY, this album will cater to those who do like a light up-beat dance feel with a gracious female vocalist adding substance to the electronica. I would stongly advise that this cd will be liked if you happen to enjoy TINA COUSINS, DIANA FOX or even perhaps LASGO. Ironically, the song 'The day it rained forever' has a strong sound and vocal relationship to Tina's 'Forever'. The light harmonic beats and uplifting autumn feel vocals do wonders to your mood. You can almost picture the singer from AURORA UK singing at a peer, dangling her feet in the water waiting for her loved one to return. The song could perhaps end with a breaking of rain to resemble heartache and finish with running mascara while she heads back to her cold home on the shore. I hope that paints a well enough picture. Dreaming follows suite with its dramatic light whispery vocals... with added electronic elements. Most songs share a similar note... but for a nice low key, not too hardcore dance album... this is your winner. Give it a whirl. And by the way, music should not be picked by gender, colour, or sexuality... music is there for everyone to enjoy. ... Thankyou. Enjoy!

Worth Every Cent!,

Aurora Uk is an amazing group, even though I think the Christian Aurora sisters are better, I really felt I should write a review for this.Aurora Uk is made of 2 boys and one girl. As far as I can understand the guys write and DJ, and Lizzy (the girl) sings. There are also guest appearances by 2 other artists. Naimee Coleman, and Marcella Detroit. The Beat of this CD is completely dance, and maybe some slower dance songs, but it is so worth the money. 1. Dreaming - Oh my gosh. It's a dance CD with a guitar!!! But don't worry it doesn't last long. Then it turns into a beautiful song. Even though it's not really upbeat, and won't make you want to jump out of your seat and dance, it usually reminds you of an experience in the past, since the song seems to talk about a girl liking a guy, but the guy doesn't know she exists. Good song. 4/5 2. The Day It Rained Forever - Even though it has a very odd title, this song is half the reason I bought this CD. It is definatly different. The first time I heard this song I had to hold myself down so I wouldn't dance in front of my family. It's definatly worth all of your money in my opinion. 5/5 3. Ordinary world - So, any Duran Duran fans. BUY THIS CD! Even if not, buy it anyway! This was the first time I heard this Artist, accept it was the remix. This version is a little too slow for me, but that's just me. Still a good song, just not near as good as the remix. 3/5 4. Your mistake - Yep. Another bit of a slow song, but I still like it. Even though it's a slow song you still hear the right amount of anger in Lizzy's voice. Worth it, but not as good as others. 3.5/5 5. Hushaby - Even though we are still in our slow period in the song, it's still definatly a dance song. I actually am starting to adore this song. I recommend this song to about any baby who is going to sleep, and any teenager writing, reading or anything else. Awesome. 4.5/5 6. In my skin - We are coming out of the slow period! We are back in Trance mode, and you can't help but sing along. I really like this song, and I think many others would too. I really love the echoing in this song, it really gives the song an extra punch. 4/5 7. This can't be Love - Yes! More dance, but don't be fooled, it starts out slow. The vocalizing in this song is gorgeous! It's the kind of song you can listen to 15 times in a row and want to hear it more. Best song in the CD! 5/5 8. If you could read my mind - Even though it is taking someone else's song again, it is a really good make of it. It was actually the first time I had ever heard that song, and fell in love with it. Even though I recommend the remix (which isn't on this CD :'( ) I still say that this song is very good. (And I also have to compliment Lizzy on her line `I don't know where we went wrong' how do you do that?) 4/5 10. Hear you calling - I adore this song. It's one you can just sing alone in your room, and really just feel love. The vocals are amazing. Even though it's slow, you can still dance to it easily. 4/5 11. Dreaming (LTI Radio Edit) - Amazing! It doesn't have guitars! Yeah! Dance song! Perfect. Love it. Passes. 5/5 12. Ordinary World (Radio Mix) - Very cool. If you don't like it at all, you may have some problems. It's very up beat; the vocalizing is once again exceptional and will have you moving. 5/5 So on average I give this CD 4/5. Even though I wish some of the songs had been faster, it was worth the money. Pick it up, you won't be disappointed.

Wow... Great music, great band! What can I say? This disc has a permanent spot in my CD visor. I don't know why anyone would complain about different versions of the same song on the CD... the remixes are both awesome! Anyone who's into techno and likes a little bit of pure "listening" music (that's about the only word I can use to describe it) thrown in, should DEFINITELY get this... It's one of Aurora's finest!

This is the kind of CD you can listen to over and over again. Only complaint; why is it record companys (mostly US) push different versions of the same song on LP's? Isn't that what "singles" are for? Fav has to be "To Die For", six plus minutes of pure pleasure.

Some dancy music/ some chill music..(I liked it),

Not exactly what I was expecting from Aurora but it was still very good. Someone else had reviewed this cd somewhere else warning people that this was all ballad music. True, and not true. I would say its about half and half. Some songs have a dancy beat and others are "chill out" songs. So, if you like Aurora's stuff to begin with, you'll love it. If you're going into it blindly and expecting every song to be a dancefloor killer, think again.

I bought the CD about a month ago and it hasnt come out of my CD player ONCE in that time. I listen to alot of techno and eurodance in my job(im an internet DJ). My GF brought me the UK single of ordinary world awhile back and I really dug it. This CD has become one of my Top 10 CDs of 2002.

What a disappointment...!,

When I heard the remixes of "Hear You Calling", and "Ordinary World"..I knew that this band truly had the uplifting melodies of pure trance, with a pulsating progressive house feel. This album reflects how some artists who try to be more mainstream, just throw and totally disregard their true sounds, as with such acts as Robert Miles(with his "Organik", a complete disaster!), and BT's experimenting with nonsensical sounds of hip-hop,mixed with grunge as with such songs as "Satellite". Most of these songs are just pure acoustic versions, at times it sounds like these so-called monotonouse American indie-pop styles of Creed, Goo Goo Dolls, or Matchbox 27 with no real substance. If you desire fresh exhilarating sounds of progressive, epic trance that will uplift every fiber in your heart, mind, body, and soul...then I would suggest, listening to IAN VAN DAHL, ATB, FERRY CORSTEN, PAUL VAN DYK, CHICANE, or AGNELLI AND NELSON..!Only the remixes by Aurora are actually worthwile spending the money...

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING ?!?,
By
This review is from: Dreaming (Audio CD)
I'll be short, if you expect more tracks like "hear you calling" you'll throw this cd out of the window after 10 minutes, if you like works of people like Ian Van Dahl (I don't call them artists, it's too much), here you will find something to waste your money. All we've got are flat and boring poppish songs with ultra-cheesy lyrics and some dance tracks that anyone can assemble at home in a couple of hours. Many dance artists have tried to move toward other styles with interesting results, that's not the case.I can describe this as: cheesy eurotrance meets cheesy europop.
