A moving story of one separated far from her homeland,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dreaming of Baghdad (Women Writing the Middle East) (Paperback)
The cruelty of Saddam Hussein is far reaching. "Dreaming of Baghdad" tells the story of Haifa Zangana, a woman who in her youth dared to resist the tyranny of Saddam Hussein in the 1970s. She spent years in prison and was tortured, only for her ultimate fate to be exile from her homeland. A moving story of one separated far from her homeland, "Dreaming of Baghdad" is a read that should not be missed for those trying to understand Iraq under Hussein.
