I'm the author of this little book, and it was born in self defense when I was teaching my first classes in dream work in the early 90s. I used every text I could find, authors I loved and admired, but still the response from students was the same: a) I couldn't finish the text, it was too complicated. b) This was nice, but I wish I knew how to analyze my own dreams!

So I began offering them what I had learned about moving from the general presentation of a dream, to the check points that allow you to analyze sections and crucial elements, then move back to a holistic view again. These steps, what I called the 5 Steps, are by no means the only way to work a dream. But over the past 15+ years, this book has been endorsed by students of all faiths (literally) and all levels of education and psychological sophistication. It's simple, it's a place to start deciphering a dream, particularly if you're stuck for some reason, or if you're trying to show a friend how easy it can be. Some dreams are easy and others are just wild, as you know. Try this little book and see if the system is one you can add to your repertoire, or one you can share with your students and clients.
