Wonderful voice!,

I have always loved music of Capercaillie mostly because of gentle but also powerful voice of their singer Karen Matheson.
"The Dreamins Sea" is her debut solo release, quite influenced by Capercaillie's style, but providing more opportunities to Karen to express her jazz feelings together with traditional Celtic instruments. I can listen to it again and again and I always like the music. It is warm, soft an fair - if you like Capercaillie, this is also a must-have for you.

Like previous reviewers, I can't get enough of this CD. I listen to it over and over. Karen Matheson has a beautiful voice and her chosen music is wonderful. I also enjoy CDs by the group, Capercaille, where she is the lead singer. However, I really hope she'll release another recording of her own.

A wonderful CD, had it actually for some time before the said release, and find it useful to change my mood during the day from typical cynicism to a more upbeat productive sense, hah. Find it to be an excellent blend of traditional gaelic and modern mixes (except for my dislike of country/western). Find the vocalizations superb and the instrumentation gentle and carefree.

Karen Matheson: Beautiful Dreamer,

I love this music. Do you believe in love at first listen? I do. Thanks to this CD. Karens voice is very soothing and very clear. She draws you to her and you love her for it. My favorite songs include "There's Always Sunday" and "Early Morning Grey". The song "Evangeline" is about as beautiful a song as you will find. After five years of listening to this CD I give it an A+ and after listening to it I believe you will too!

This is an album to be enjoyed again and again. Karen Matheson's versatile yet always melodic voice shines with brilliant clarity in this diverse collection of songs, from traditional tunes in Scottish Gaelic to modern ones in English. The instrument arrangements accompanying her voice are also truly superb on this album. My favorites today include the cheerful "fac thu na feidh," and the classic, hauntingly beautiful "an fhideag airgid." But every single track on this album is excellent, and I could easily have different choices tomorrow. So many CDs are played once or twice and then sit on the shelf. Not this one: it's a great investment in listening pleasure well worth buying.
