About the Author

Award-winning author Terry Spear has written seven werewolf books, with over 67,000 copies sold. She received Publishers Weekly's Best Book of the Year in 2008 for Heart of the Wolf. A retired officer of the U.S. Army Reserves, Terry is a librarian by day. She lives in Crawford, Texas.

More About the Author

USA TODAY bestselling, and award-winning author and creator of award-winning teddy bears who have found homes all over the world including Australia, Switzerland, China, and Russia, and a retired officer of the US Army Reserves, I love to plant trees and flowers and if I could, I'd turn all the deserts green. Time travels are my favorite read, although I love to read most anything, and the Bourne series, Romancing the Stone, Sixth Sense, Legend, The Princess Bride, Stardust, Inkheart, LOTR, and tons of other movies are my favorites.

I love to research, to make urban fantasy worlds real, to bring a little of the paranormal into our world. Even in "Winning the Highlander's Heart" the heroine feels she is cursed and she has second sight. But I try to do it in a way that feels real, and not fantasized. :) Currently, I'm working on book 2 of the new jaguar shifter series, but still am working on wolf book number 12 and 13! So more hunky wolves to come! A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing has just released.

I picked up the first few books of this series for free and got hooked. I knew this book was coming but thought I remembered previous characters well enough that I didn't need to go back and re-read the series from the beginning. Sorry - I should have re-read the previous book(s) about Silvertown.

Anyway, I did enjoy this book. There was enough action, mystery, frustration, trying to save each other that made it a fun read. I only wish that there had been a little more information about other characters and what was happening in their lives. Sorry - I like connecting dots. Worth the read and I'm going back now to re-read the previous books to connect up the dots/characters.

Jake Silver is a nature photographer who just recently started displaying his works in local galleries, he is also a werewolf. Visiting the town of Breakenridge to drop off some of his work, Jake sees a beautiful woman sneaking around outside and decides to follow her. Learning that Alicia Greiston is a bounty hunter seeking vengeance on a group of mobsters for the death of her mother brings out all of Jake's protective instincts even though Alicia is only human. Trying to keep her safe proves to be quite the challenge for Jake since Alicia is adamant in taking down the mobsters by herself and keeping Jake out of harm's way. But with danger comes an intense passion that can't be denied and when circumstances change Alicia might just get the wolf, and the future, she's been dreaming of.

Dreaming of the Wolf is book 8 in the Heart of the Wolf series, but don't let that scare you off because it is set up perfectly as a stand-alone. This is actually my first read from author Terry Spear, though I've had her on my TBR list for a while now. Dreaming of the Wolf was a good story and I enjoyed the aspects of the Silver wolf pack but the actuality of it didn't quite meet my expectations.

The character of Jake himself was well-written, sexy and captivating. He had a deliciously sweet side and I really loved him and the whole silver pack that was featured. They intrigued me and made me interested in their own stories. The pack atmosphere was well detailed and vivid; you could tell that the author knew what she was talking about when it came to wolves. When it came to Jake's relationship with Alicia however, I wasn't quite feeling it. Being a werewolf, Jake couldn't get involved with a human and Alicia was too set on her journey for justice to be side-tracked.

Book 8 of Spear's Werewolf series. Book 7 Heart of the Highland Wolf. Followed by SEAL in Wolf's Clothing.

Plot:
While delivering photos to an art gallery, Jake makes the find of his life. His Soul Mate. When she runs, there's nothing he can do but spend his nights dream mating with her. And when she comes back, everything has changed. Can he keep her safe, and by his side, or will her past and her independence destroy any hope they have?

Comments:
- Contemporary paranormal in a spicy romance with a strong plot and a few explicit sex scenes.
- 6209 kindle locations, approx 363 pages
- m/f - explicit, reasonably frequent, caring.
- Each book in the series happily stands alone, there are references to the stories and characters of other books.
- Jake Silver is Darien's brother. He first appeared in Book 2 Destiny of the Wolf, and appeared again in Carol's story Wolf Fever.

Opinion:
Back to the US and Spear returns to what has made her so popular - contemporary paranormal with sub-characters we've met before, some fun wicked sex, and an interesting story-line. So glad she returned.

"Dreaming of the Wolf" is a happy read on a par with Spear's other werewolf books. She writes a good plot and sweet, loving sex scenes.

Spears is a good writer but the sex scene is the exact same every time in every book. It gets a little old.
