Bittersweet and Beautiful,
By
This review is from: Dreaming of You (Audio CD)
Selena's last album is a tragic tribute to a magnificent talent, a painful vision of what would have been had she lived, and evidence of just how much the music world lost when she was taken from us. Her rich, sweet voice paints a picture of dreams realized and snatched away with the haunting "Dreaming of You" and "I Could Fall in Love." Even non-Spanish speakers can enjoy the happy rhythm of her Tejano classics. Selena will forever live on through her music and in the hearts of generations to come with this classic CD. Adios, Selena. We miss you.

Dreaming Of You 20 Years Of Music Limited Edition,
By "dvdcollector18" (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dreaming of You (Audio CD)
This re-issue of Selena's record breaking #1 Billboard Hit has been completely remastered to give it a sound that goes beyond it's original state. All of her breakthrough English hits such as Dreaming Of You and I Could Fall In Love are here, with her revamped Spanish classics ("Amor Prohibido" and "Como La Flor") and some powerful mariachi offerings: El Toro Relajo and Tu Solo Tu.It is amazing to think that she was able to bring this Latin masterpiece to #1 on the Billboard Pop Charts. To this day this is the only predominately Spanish album to ever debut @ #1. In addition, this Special Limited Edition re-issue includes: introduction text not found in the original version, Dreaming Of You Music Video for the computer, and Spoken Liner Notes by her father, sister, brother and other band members. These notes are terrific to listen to with loads of tidbits including A.B. advising Selena at first NOT to record the title track, and Selena and his memorable encounter with Wynona Judd!!...It is definatley worth the re-purchase if you have the original or to purchase for the first time to discover Selena's versatile talent.

A Must Have,
By Ryan (Florida, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dreaming of You (Audio CD)
This CD is a must have, sadly Selena's life was cut short before the CD was finished but the 5 new tracks she left us with are a tragic prediction of how well she would have been.
"I Could Fall In Love" An amazing vocal input by Selena. A catchy beat about a woman falling in love with a man already in a relationship. 10/10 "Captive Heart" Sounds almost 80ish, great song. 9/10 "I'm Getting Used To You" Written by Diane Warren, it's a great song although the video they made without Selena was horrible. 10/10 "Gods Child" A Spanish/English song I enjoyed it 8/10 "Dreaming Of You" This is what the album is all about, this is the best song Selena ever recorded in my opinion, also one of the best love songs of all times, I must have listened to this song 10,000 times it never gets old. I'm glad Selena insisted against her label to record this track for her album. This showcases her amazing vocals and ability to go from low to high at a snap of the fingers. 10/10 "Missing My Baby" A soulful song which showcases all of Selena's range, reminds me of something Mariah Carey might record. 10/10 "Amor Prohibido" (Forbidden Love) A fun song that will have even non-spanish speakers dancing, the song is supposed to be about Selena's Grandparents who fell in love although one was poor and one was rich. 9/10 "Wherever You Are" A recording in Spanish and English with the Barrio Boys, Selena's vocals should be displayed more in the track the Barrio Boys are more dominant in it. Good song though 7/10 "Techno Cumbia" Selena does a rap in this which I find very good showcasing her range as an artist, a very fun song. 10/10 "El Toro Relajo" This is a salsa track Selena recorded for the movie Don Juan DeMarco, shows Selena's ability to do any genre of music, I'm not a fan of the genre but Selena livens up the song. 7/10 "Como La Flor" This song was Selena's first Spanish hit, meaning "Like The Flower" in English. 7/10 "Tu Solo Tu" Another track which was recorded for the Don Juan Demarco movie 6.5/10 "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" A very fun song that Selena wrote you'll find yourself dancing throughout it, it's about a girls beating heart whose in love. 10/10 I don't speak Spanish I'm not a fan of Spanish music but Selena has that appeal that makes her Spanish music interesting and fun. The English and Spanish tracks are equally delightful.
