fine time travel romance,
This review is from: Dreamquest (Time Travel Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
It seems all her life Suzanne Lucas has dreamed of the Native American male or at least since she was five years old and a visitor to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Now needing to make an employment decision, teacher Suzanne decides to go on a vacation back to her favorite state park after the most intense dream yet. However, at the park after seeing an old man, an earthquake strikes, injuring Suzanne. In the 1860s, Coyote treks to his favorite spot, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, to get away from things, but an earthquake shakes things up a bit. When he reaches his oasis, he sees the injured naked white female. His grandfather informs him that Suzanne is the bird in the young warrior's dreams that he has envisioned for years. As Coyote helps heal Suzanne, they fall in love, but avaricious miners abduct his beloved trying to ransom her in exchange for the location of a legendary gold mine. Even if he succumbs to their demands, neither knows whether she will remain in the nineteenth century though if love is the ultimate force they belong together. Time travel romance readers will enjoy Suzanne's trek. The story line is at its best when the two lovers are confronted with external enemies including stormy Mother Nature trying to bring Suzanne back to the future. The couple is a fine pairing, but has no strife between them as each easily accepts the other as their destined soulmate. Still sub-genre readers will appreciate Suzanne's journey for love and Coyote's acceptance that his cherished one was born over a hundred years from when they met. Harriet Klausner

I have read every time travel romance book I can find. This one is awful.
If you want to read a book that is predominantly a native american language lesson, cookbook and plant lesson, then by all means buy it. If you want a good story, save your money! The description of the plants go on and on, how the plants are prepared for food (ZZZZZZZ) go on and on. The female character describes all the plants too. Who cares? There is so much indian native language you have no idea what is being said. There is a glossary. I don't want to have to look up words while reading a fictional story. The characters are boring. There is nothing to them. The entire book goes no where. This book will go into the trash when Im done. IT SUCKS!

This book is a way to read about and learn about an amazing Native American tribe without having your heart broken the way it usually is in any story that involves these people. I really appreciated having a book that presents the joy, beauty, spirit, knowledge and ways of a Native American tribe without going into detail about the painful history of which we are all too well aware.
The author's fluid writing carried me from the mystical to the real and back again with never a hitch. The love story was compelling, bringing together two very strong people and showing them fall in love in a gradual and realistic manner as their relationship grew through increasing challenges into abiding trust. I particularly liked the way that the author expressed the mental awarenesses, the stirrings, longings, and whispers of our paths that we all have but sometimes ignore. And finally, I relished the journey to the desert. I felt like I was there. I love desert beauty but have no idea how one would live there. I enjoyed having that experience through this book. Finally, the author appears to be an impeccable researcher.

This is a wonderful adventure between dreams and reality leavingthe reader wanting to track their own dreams. Coyote is strong, amazingly tender, and if ever you're going to dream about a hero, he's the one. Suzanne is the white bird he was destined to save both physically and emotionally. Together they learn about loyalty, love and tradition. And together they learn that there are no physical boundries when it comes to the heart. I loved this book!

"Dreamquest" is truly enjoyable. Beautifully written with dreamy characters. Janet Wellington's recipe for romance is perfectly told in this book with the right amounts of intriguing suspense and teasing sexual tension. This book will inspire you to keep track of your dreams-you never know, they just might be real.
