More About the Author

I live and write on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. With the ocean and a beautiful city harbour just steps from my door, I consider myself one very lucky writer. But I have to say that my real luck is being married to Tim, my first and final husband.

I am the polar opposite of the revered Domestic Goddess. I enjoy solitude and all things book-related, tolerate some required physical activity for my health's sake and have, over time, come to the conclusion that life is not a bowl of cherries; it's more a mix of hocus pocus, good and bad surprises, and unexpected rainfall. All of which is completely beyond my control. I'm not sure I trust the Universe's running of things, but I respect it. I do trust in the power of a good book. Books have been my companions, friends, and teachers all of my life. They've introduced me to amazing characters and taken me away on grand vacations, sometimes for as little as .99 cents.

I write both contemporary romance and romantic suspense, the latter because sometimes a nasty and conniving villain pops into my head and I just have to get him out.

I mess with Facebook occasionally: bits about my books and occasional thoughts on life when it gets particularly confusing. I also noodle around on Twitter, never quite knowing why.

I have a Website with most of my books listed, although Amazon does a much better job of staying current with that information than I do.

I have excitedly waited for news on Dreams Don't Wait by E.C. Sheedy to hit the e-pub market. Having read several of her works, I saw a teaser chapter at the end of another of her books and with my interest highly peaked, I found it was an older work not yet available for my kindle. After some rewarding emails with a quite responsive author, I was pleased to have a great read for my Christmas holiday. This romance lead me into the lives of Evan North, a single young mother, and her teenage son, Cal. As Evan struggles to provide the love and direction her son needs, she has put her own life and dream on the back burner. Now with college knocking at Cal's door, Evan can almost feel the possibility for her own dreams with her reach. When the opportunity for better living accommodations rent-free in exchange for some evening child care is dangled in front of Evan, she jumps at the chance and right into the arms of a very tempting Linc Stewart. Linc's adorable spoiled daughter, Jenny Stewart wins both Evan and Cal's hearts in short order but Evan sees Jenny and Linc as obstacles that could derail her hopes and dreams and is determined to keep both at 'arms length'.

The roller coaster of emotions as Evan and Cal become emotionally attached to Linc and his daughter Jenny is full of up and downs. Dreams Don't Wait was a fun and unexpected journey that doesn't disappoint. Well edited and a must read on my book suggestions list.

I borrowed my daughter's Kindle to read this story, while she read one of the stories on my Kindle. I really enjoyed Dreams Don't Wait because I think that life without our Dreams would be pretty dull. I enjoyed the story because the characters kept family values at the top of their priorities, where they should be. I would like to read other stories by this author.

I read this book from beginning to end without stopping. I couldn't make myself put it down. If you read it, and I think you should, I hope you like it as much as I did.

I really enjoyed this story. Single mother of 16 yr. old son goes to work for a rich architect with a 5 yr. old daughter as a part time nanny. The heroine is a good strong woman with a spine!!! I get so put out with whiney, spinless women that always have to have their way and the hero bows to their every wish. Not so with this one. Good, strong hero as well. The heroine has had some rough times raising a son on her own and he is about to go off to college and her life will become all about her and what she wants to do. But things may get in the way of that. Really good story. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it if you like a good love story. No bad guys or violence, just two characters working through issues to get a HEA.

This book is truly inspirational, Evan had her son Cal at 14, she got kicked out of her home and was use to putting her dreams on hold until her son was taken care of. Then she planned on doing all the things she never got to do, college and travel, well her son is off to college and to pay for it she takes the offer to live in her friends bother Lincoln's cabin and help watch his daughter occasionally for free rent. Neither one expected to fall in love, but can they put their dreams off again for true love. You'll love this book.

Dreams Don't Wait is set in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Victoria, BC, Canada. The story is about a single mother, Evan that has raised a son, Cal on her own. He is ready to enter the University at age sixteen, is an excellent student and a great young man to her credit. She has given everything to raising him and put her own dreams on hold to give him what he needs (sounds like a good normal mom to me). She has dreams of going back to school and becoming a teacher after she gets him established in his University education. Her dream of an education has been one of the things that have kept her working so hard for her son. She is given the chance for free rent in exchange for evening babysitting, which means she can save more money for her son's education. The free cottage is also close to the University, for her son.

The man she makes this deal for free rent is Lincoln Stewart (Linc) and his cute preschool daughter Jenny. Linc has his own baggage and ideas on childcare as a single father that add interest to his character in his commitment to his daughter. Evan did not plan to fall in love with both Linc and Jenny, which throw her dreams to the back burner again if she continues the relationship with Linc and his daughter. One of the things I liked about Evan was she was not willing to continue the relationship if she felt she could not be the kind of mother that Jenny needed; the author wrote of the emotional commitment and responsibilities of a parent in a way that brought out the strong moral character of Evan. More family values need to be expressed in good fiction and this one does it perfectly. A roller coaster of emotions sends her for a tailspin, as she fights for her dreams and her unexpected love for Linc and his daughter. EC Sheedy has written a perfect ending to solve Evan and Linc's troubled courtship and you should read this wonderful story to find out all about these two.

Evan North had her son Cal when she was 14. She has sacrificed and worked hard to give her and Cal a decent life after she throw out of the house when first pregnant. She has put her wants and needs on hold for all of these years, until Cal begins college. Then Evan is going to pursue her dreams and goals. When she gets the opportunity to live in a cabin of her co-workers brother and work part time to care of his daughter, she jumps at the chance. She can live there free and save up the money from both jobs for Cal's college. Linc Stuart is an abrasive, temperamental, rich, stubborn and very handsome man. The two of them are like opposite polar fields. They immediately have different opions on Linc's spoiled daughter Jenny and how best to care for her. The two main characters are very much set in thier ways, but Linc is the first to break. This was a sweet, easy reading romance novel. I have always enjoyed E C Sheedy's work. The only negative would be is that I felt it got to drawn out with of character Evan. She still seemed immature for a man like Linc in many ways. But I did enjoy the book very much.
