Editorial Reviews

Review

Dreams of Dying is a remarkable experience, uplifting, healing and strangely provocative. Loved it!
-- Carol Leigh Rice, M.A., Victoria, BC, Canada | Author of Silk Road Visions Blog

Dreams of Dying is a very entertaining book that does a great job of subtly weaving in core concepts from A Course in Miracles.
-- Alex Marchand | Author, The Universe Is a Dream: The Secrets of Existence Revealed

You will be drawn to read every page.
-- Reverend Emile Gauvreau | Center for Spiritual Living Cape Coral

Beautifully written!
-- Lisa J. Trevino | Minister, Speaker and Las Vegas ACIM Leader

Dreams of Dying is a beautifully crafted story that centers on the dream/reality of a terrible family tragedy and the main character’s sudden ability to see and converse with Jesus Christ. Heartfelt and deeply moving, the book is like an epiphanous dream probing the mysteries of birth, life, and death. It is one of those gems of spiritual literature that becomes a permanent fixture in our lives, always remembered as a gift for that special friend with whom we wish to share our most deeply felt beliefs. (Hal Zina Bennett, Author of Writing Spiritual Books, Write From the Heart and Follow Your Bliss.)

About the Author

Shaman Elizabeth Herrera is a healer whose life has been filled with miracles. She was raised in a Christian home but lost her faith in her early 20s. A decade later, Elizabeth discovered Native American spirituality (shamanism). After practicing shamanism for several years, she inadvertently began experiencing miracles for herself and others--which eventually led her back to God.

In 2010, she wrote a memoir, Shaman Stone Soup, which received glowing reviews. Tragically, after she finished the first draft, her mother was struck and killed by a car while riding a bike. However, a few days later, her mother's spirit gave Elizabeth the greatest miracle of her life and changed the course of the book.

Prior to writing Dreams of Dying, Elizabeth had a vivid dream where she was shown four pivotal scenes. The remainder of the story was divinely inspired, unfolding as she listened closely to her heart.

More About the Author

Shaman Elizabeth Herrera is a healer and author who writes life-changing books. Her stories encourage people to stretch outside their comfort zones and reexamine their own beliefs.

Elizabeth was raised in a Christian home, but lost her faith in her early twenties. For over a decade, she searched for something to fill the void, eventually discovering Native American spirituality (shamanism). Through this spiritual practice, she unexpectedly became a catalyst for healing and miracles. These events led her back to a belief in a higher power.

Her great-grandfather was a full-blooded Apache, who raised her father. She was fortunate to know her great-grandfather. He smuggled sugar and flour from Mexico into Texas, exchanged gunfire with Texas Rangers and crossed paths with Pancho Villa.

She is the author of "Shaman Stone Soup," "Dreams of Dying" and "Earth Sentinels." www.ShamanElizabeth.com

When I sat down to read Dreams of Dying for the first time I was wary. Why? I'm an atheist raised as a Christian, and I wasn't sure how I would react to the main character's conversation with Jesus Christ. I loved it! My beliefs haven't changed, but I marveled in witnessing another person's spiritual questions and journey. I reveled in the loving, empathetic and joyfully descriptive writing. Elizabeth Herrera has written a book that, while seemingly tragic, brings the reader to a place of hope and optimism. I highly recommend this dream of a book!

I liked the simplicity of the writing with the complexity of the thoughts relating to our spiritual journey. While not new thoughts to me, I found myself again looking at the views that I have and raising more possibilities. The intertwining of the two realities is well expressed and yet leads to a well presented truth. The question remains...what is reality? What is our dream?

It has been several weeks since I read “Dreams of Dying”, yet thoughts of the story keep me intrigued. There is such a fine line between the world that we live in, and our greater reality, in the world of Spirit. This book clearly demonstrates how we are spiritual beings, having a human experience.

I loved how the idea for this encouraging story was executed and the loving, timeless messages about our perceptions of both life and what we call death. The only thing that was missing for me was a closer looks at how Lisa's (and her family's) interactions with Jesus really affected each of their thoughts. It seemed very matter-of-fact (to me) and I would have really enjoyed if more time could have been given to their thoughts and especially feelings about how Jesus' physical presence changed each of them. All in all, a beautiful contribution to spiritual fiction from the writer of Shaman Stone Soup!

Author Elizabeth Herrera explains the truth behind life and the attachments of this world that people cling to. The eternal and everlasting love from Jesus goes beyond what we know to be real. Letting go of control over people, situations and material possessions and knowing that God's love is so much more than we could ever imagine.

Anyone in search of a spiritual solution should read this.

Excellent work!
