Book Description

March 2003
In times of disaster, dreams work to reorient us, reinvigorate and and heal us. In this book that grew out of the terrible tragedy of 9/11, dream expert Kelly Bulkeley shows us how dreams and nightmares can be valuable in helping people suffering a crisis or tragedy to work through their losses and develop a new capacity for living, along with greater spiritual wisdom and self-understanding.

Chock full of dozens of practical examples of how to work with the dreams and nightmares of trauma survivors, this enlightening and hopeful book:

--offers practical suggestions for caregivers who are working in a post-9/11 world.
--is clearly written and accessible to the general reader.
--is ideal for pastoral care and counseling courses in seminaries, and for crisis counseling courses in schools of professional psychology.
--contains the largest single collection of post-9/11 dreams to date.

I am a therapist specializing in work with trauma survivors. This book offers an accessible introduction to the subject of PTSD as it relates to dream-work. The book integrates recent scientific research, personal and communal experience in an engaging narrative.

This book focuses on 911 the entire book......... despite in the description how it says it covers a wide range of subject matter..... it talks about other nightmare causes in brevity but then refrences right back to 911 in the very next paragraph....... poorly written book....... will not be helpful unless 911 is your issue them maybe.....
