5.0 out of 5 stars Book 3 in a triogy., June 9, 2007
This review is from: It Dreams in Me (Paperback)
This is the last and best in the triogy. The triogy should only be read by older teens or adults because it has a lot of adult themes in it. Book 3 finally anwsers all the Questions from book 1 and its amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raw and Sensual, April 28, 2008

This review is from: It Dreams in Me (Paperback)
An intriguing tale about a young sensual woman whom endures hell while clinging to the very man whom influenced her vigorous sexuality. I cried with Sora, rejoiced, but most of all left the present world and flew among her passionate adventure of healing. If you have a weak stomach or not culturally open minded, then this book is not for you. Also great historical info.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read, September 11, 2008

This book was an excellent conclusion of the Black Falcon series. All of the books keep you on edge and you never quite know who to trust. It is a great read, like all great stories I hated when this one was over, but the ending is very satisfactory.

A superbly crafted must-read historical shamanic/mystery/thriller! Kathleen delves into the very psyche of her powerful North American characters set back in time in a world of their own, untouched by immigrants or settlers from abroad. The author uses all avenues of intrigue to keep the reader's mind and emotions fully engaged right up to the very end. This is much more than an ordinary mystery. This tale is the final in a series of three books detailing the shamanic, political and physical journey of Kathleen's well-reearched ficitonal heroine Sora, the High Chieftess of the Black Falcon Nation. Although the author recaps frequently to give new readers a chance to catch up,the two previous books should be read first(in order)to fully grasp the politics and understand the characters, their culture, their beliefs and how their experiences have shaped their thoughts. Reading the whole set is a dynamic treat...you won't want to the put the books down even at the end! There is something for everyone woven into this gripping read: sensual sexuality, tribal politics, the intrigue of shamanic magic, physchological warfare, warriors and a very well-formed historical world. Kathleen creates a watermark with her words and allows the reader to adjust the depth, tone and texture with his/her own hungry imagination. The suspense throughout this tale and the first two books is gripping! This story is the most complex of the three,by far, with all subplots coming together at the end. There are many bittersweet moments and the psychology of each character keeps the reader deeply interested. Kathleen has all bases covered while she leads you in circles ever closer to the end...

5.0 out of 5 stars I got what I was looking for, will you?, June 22, 2007

A man's deep love can quite easily become that man's demise. This is the story of Sora and a complex array of scandals and love. For one, love turns to a jealous rage and develops into hatred. Flint's hatred formed from his love for Sora literally became a love-hate relationship. It is a curious thing how one man's love turns into destruction but love from another man can reach such tenderness that it lifts the souls to such pure light and love.

This was a mesmerizing scandal that I couldn't wait to finish. This was one of her best works in my opinion. Katherine O'Neal Gear's writing, and that of her husband's, has flourished over the years to exciting heights. I found disappointment twice with the first two books of this series because there was no conclusion. I didn't have the answers I desperately sought. This book gave me the answers and gave me a conclusion. Sora did find tender love in Strongheart and the story left me in tears.

Sora is a captivating woman with a strong sexual appetite. She is the Chieftess of a Native American tribe in Florida. She is suspected of murder but her people believe that it is an affliction caused by an ailment that causes blackouts. She is banished until she is able to be healed from the affliction.

Flint was the love of her life but the relationship was destructive and a divorce resulted. He planned to remarry but his wife-to-be died and he blamed Sora for the death. He faked his own death and through schemes and confusing scandals was able to create enough doubt in Sora's mind and in her people's.

Strongheart is a priest whom is sought after to heal Sora. With his help, the truth is uncovered.

Honestly, these books are very intricate. They must be read in order and with careful detail. The complexity of the treason that takes place is outrageous. It keeps you spinning and guessing and you would never come close to really imagining the depth of the operations taking place in Sora's life.
