Considering that I am a hardcore film music fan, and I own more than 500 scores (which is not that many for a hardcore fan to tell the truth), I fell really ashamed that I wasn't aware of Luis Bacalov, the Academy award winning composer (Il Postino - The Postman). And what a fool I've been! This score is simply magnificent. I immediately fell in love with it. Although the score is quite a mixture of cheerful, mediterranean romantic music and mesmerizing, haunting melodies, they add up to a perfect whole. And I have to speak about the last track called A Sky Full of Stars/Grecia's Destiny. With the heartbraking violin solo it is so beautiful it hurts. You can feel the sea, you can feel how people feel when they fall in love with nature, and you can feel how wonderful love is. Yes, the last track is so perfect, so uplifting, only a truly great artist could write such a music. Bravo Luis Bacalov! I can only recommend this CD, to anyone, who wants to listen to something coming truly from the soul.
