While touring last summer, trying out new tempos and riffs on their new songs, Brandi would introduce this song with the statement, "And yes, this >is< purely sexual."

In this first single of their soon-to-be-released third album, Brandi Carlile and her band, guitarists Phil and Tim Hanseroth and cellist Josh Neumann, have constructed another toe-tapping, unassuming tune packed with emotion and energy.

It starts off an unassuming ditty, that you may not even pay attention to, but the tension builds with each phrase, and explodes in an anthemic, rocking chorus that just makes you want to sing it at the top of your lungs while jumping up and down.

"Dreams" unravels and details an emotion with which we are all familiar: the nearly painful longing for another, where you're busting to tell them, but then think better of it, wondering if your desire is as plain as the nose on your face, or whether you're really as cool as you'd like to think you are.

This delicious slice off what Brandi herself calls a "barn-burner" of an album (due out early October) may result in involuntary thigh-slapping, steering-wheel-drumming, and head-bobbing. Also, don't be surprised if you find yourself humming it as you wander the aisles of the grocery store, or carve out that path between your desk and the copier/printer.

Every song is a winner. I realize Brandi has been around for awhile but she's new to me and I'm loving it!

This song was always one I turned up on the radio, but seeing it performed live, especially with many proud members of the LGBT community it took on a whole new meaning and now when I hear it I get a tear in my eye thinking about how many people are so positively affected by this song.

First heard of this artist, Brandi Carlile,on 90.5 radio station here in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon arriving home I immediately went to Amazon and downloaded her song "Dreams", still loving it.
